William Levy to Star in Telemundo’s “Café, con Aroma de Mujer” Telenovela Remake

William Levy’s returning to his melodramaticroots…

The 39-year-old Cuban actor and heartthrob, who previously starred in the hit telenovelas Cuidado con el ángel and Triunfo del amorwill star in Café, con Aroma de Mujer, a revival telenovela for Telemundo.

The original Colombian telenovelastarred Margarita Rosa de Francisco and Guy Ecker. Itfirst aired in 1994 and was written by Fernando Gaitan, who created Betty La Fea, the inspiration for the U.S.’s Ugly Betty.The telenovela was broadcast in several countries throughout Latin America, North America and Europe.

The telenovela, which stars Levy and Colombian actress Carmen Villalobos, tells the story of Gaviota and Sebastian, who’ll have to overcome the resistance from the Vallejo family, loves from the past and the obstacle of belonging to two different worlds. 

In 2011, Levy gained worldwide attention after appearing as Jennifer Lopez’s love interest, for her music video, “I’m Into You.” The following year he made his U.S. media debut as a contestant on season 14 of Dancing With The Stars, where he was partnered with Cheryl Burke and finished in third place.

Since his time on Dancing With The Stars, Levy has appeared in Tyler Perry’s The Single Mom’s Club, the erotic thriller Addicted, and had a recurring role on season 3 of FOX’s television series Star.
