Freddie Prinze Jr. is about to get his game on… in outer space.

The 35-year-old part-Puerto Rican actor will voice one of the characters in BioWare’s action role-playing game Mass Effect 3 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Prinze, who admits that he was a fan of the franchise well before joining the cast, plays James Vega, a rough and tumble soldier battling dark forces in outer space. And, he couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the Mass Effect experience.

“You have to play it. It’s a completely immersive game,” Prinze said in a recent interview. “It will make you think, you’ll actually care about the characters you’re playing, and you’ll really be able to customize the game. I think that’s what gamers want.”

But Prinze isn’t the only Latino making up part of the voice cast…

Martin Sheen is back! The 71-year-old half-Spanish actor first appeared in Mass Effect 2 as the villainous Illusive Man. A ruthless leader of the Cerberus Organization, Illusive Man was actually designed with Sheen in mind and meant to resemble his likeness.

The highly popular game series will hit theaters on March 6.
