The quest to become American Idol’s first Latina winner continues for Jessica Sanchez…
After nearly 90 million votes were cast and counted, the 16-year-old half-Mexican singer, who judge Steven Tyler predicted would be the last contestant standing on Wednesday’s performance episode, was the first finalist to advance to next week’s finale.
Sanchez, who faced elimination in the seventh round before getting the judge’s save, will face off against Phillip Phillips for the American Idol crown, after they beat out Joshua Ledet to make it to the finale.
