Clifton Collins Jr. is headed to the Alphabet Network.
The half-Mexican American actor has joined the cast of ABC’s Red Widow as a series regular.
Based on the Dutch series Penoza, the upcoming drama series centers on Marta Walraven (Radha Mitchell) who, after her gangster husband is brutally murdered by a rival cartel, takes on the gangsters and the FBI to unveil the truth about her husband’s death.
Collins, who most recently appeared on NBC’s sci-fi drama The Event, will play FBI agent James Ramos.
Collins was originally approached to play the role in the pilot episode, but wasn’t available. Mido Hamada was cast in the role, which is now being recast.
Collins recently wrapped production on two films: Guillermo del Toro’s feature Pacific Rim and the Taylor Hackford-directed Parker.
