Demi Lovato is preparing to take the field at this year’s World Series… No, she isn’t turning pro. The former Disney star will actually be performing the national anthem at Game 5.

18-year-old part-Mexican singer/actress announced her “Star-Spangled” plans to her oh-so-supportive fans via her Twitter account.

“Only my lovatics could land me a spot singing the national anthem at the WORLD SERIES!!!!” posted Lovato, who was recently named to Billboard.com’s 21 Under 21 musicians list. “I couldn’t do it without you guys!!!!”

Since her stint in a treatment facility for an eating disorder and self-injury, Lovato has come back stronger than ever from what she calls “the darkest time” of her life. She released her latest album “Unbroken,” performed on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and won an ALMA Award for “Favorite TV Actress—Leading Role in a Comedy.”

The Texas-native will follow in the footsteps on fellow LaTweeno singer Scotty McCreery, who performed the national anthem at Game 1 of the World Series this week.

Game 5 between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals will take place on Monday at 8:05 pm ET at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
