J Balvin is Deezer’s Most Streamed Global Artist of 2019

Make that two in a row for J Balvin

The 34-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer is Deezer’s most streamed global artist of 2019, according to the streaming platform announced, topping the list for the second consecutive year.

But J Balvin, who also tops the reeggaeton list, isn’t the only Latino in the overall Top 10…

He’s followed by Brazil’s Marília Mendonça, who comes in at No. 3, and Brazil’s Anitta, who comes in at No. 10. 

Anitta also tops the list of Latin pop artists, where she’s followed by MalumaShakiraPedro CapóReikRosalíaJennifer LopezCNCOCamilo and Carlos Vives.

Daddy Yankee’s “Con Calma” with Snowhas made two lists. It comes in at No. 3 on the overall most streamed songs list, as well as No. 3 on the top streamed sing-along tracks list. 

Camila Cabello’s collaboration with Shawn Mendes, “Señorita,”comes in at No. 5 on the overall most streamed songs list, and at No. 2 on the top streamed sing-along tracks list.

International and pop most streamed artist. Ariana Grande is the most streamed female, while XXXTentacion leads the rap category, Drake leads R&B, EDM belongs to David Guetta, and BTStops the K-pop category.

“Local music has completely smashed it this year! It’s been a big one for Spanish-speaking music and the world is loving English and Spanish mashup tracks,” says Nigel Harding, Deezer’s vp of artist marketing.

With the announcement, the streaming platform also introduced#MyDeezerYear, where fans can also see their own musical year, favorite song, albums and much more.
