Hulu has set a premiere date for Ralph Barbosa: Planet Bosa, the 28-year-old Mexican American stand-up comedian’s second hour-long stand-up special and first for the streamer.
It will debut on Friday, August 8.
In his new hour special, which was filmed at Balboa Theatre in San Diego, is 10th original under Hulu’s new Hularious banner.
In the special, Barbosa shares his adventures in dating, controlling his temper, working on cars, and his views on current events.
The special is directed by Jeff Tomsic and produced by Rotten Science. Jeff Tomsic, Barbosa, Matthew Vaughan (Rotten Science) and Zack Waxenberg (3 Arts) served as executive producers.
Barbosa is coming off of the Netflix special Ralph Barbosa: Cowabunga, which spent two weeks on the streamer’s Top 10 chart in the fall of 2023, debuting at #3.
Previously teaming with Gwen La Roka on the Max comedy special, Entre Nos: The Winners 3, the rising comic has also put out a set for the digital series Comedy Central Stand-Up Featuring, which has garnered 6.7 million views on YouTube, and unveiled a Don’t Tell Comedy performance, which oddly enough boasts the same count on the same platform.
