The 58-year-old Afro-Cuban singer-songwriter, who released the sing;e “Angel” in 1993, will take part in this year’s edition of the St. Jude Angels and Stars Gala.

This year, the annual event, which celebrates the kids of St. Jude and supports the life-saving mission of the children’s research hospital, will be held online with special performances by Secada and fellow Grammy-winner Natalia Jimenez.

“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been the best exemplary leader for decades in every possible way to facilitate medical care and peace of mind for these families, without any financial burden,” says Secada, a two-time Grammy winner. “That is the true essence of philanthropy.”

“Supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has always been among my priorities,” says Jimenez. “From the first time I learned of their great work, everything they do for research, helping families, I was convinced that I wanted to be part of this family and help as I could. Visiting the hospital in Memphis was very special. Seeing the love with which they do everything and the great dedication they put to saving these children. I am happy to be part of this virtual gala and share a little of my time with them.”

Hosted by Telemundo’s Nastassja Bolivar and Univision’s Alberto Sardinas, the free virtual gala will also tell the inspirational story of one of the patients and encourage viewers to join in and raise funds for St. Jude.

The St. Jude Angels and Stars Gala live stream will air at 6:30 pm ET on Thursday, June 25 via www.stjude.org/angelsandstars.
