Ricky Martin will be tying the knot in the coming weeks…

The 40-year-old Puerto Rican will reportedly marry with his longtime boyfriend Carlos Gonzalez in New York City on January 28, according to the El Nuevo Dia’s website. New York City approved marriage between same-sex couples on June 24.

Since announcing his sexual orientation in March 2010, Martin has expressed his support for marriage among people of the same sex. And, he’s fighting for same-sex marriage in Puerto Rico, where it’s still illegal.

“What I want is for them to say no to discrimination so that equality among us human beings may be a reality in my country,” Martin said in a previous interview.
