It’s official… Jessica Alba will be starring in the sequel to Frank Miller’s Sin City…
Dimension Films, the company that will distribute the film in the United States, has confirmed that the 31-year-old half-Mexican American actress will be returning to reprise her role as Nancy Callahan in the sequel.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will be a prequel and sequel with interlinking stories both before and after the first film, according to Miller.
Along with Alba, Mickey Rourke is expected to return to reprise his role in the sequel. Rodriguez has said the cast will be “of the same caliber and eclecticism” as that of the previous film.
Sin City, which opened to wide critical and commercial success, grossed $74.1 million in North American and $84.6 million overseas, for a worldwide total from theater receipts of $158.7 million.
Production is set to begin later this summer at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin.
Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is slated for release on October 4, 2013.
