Guzman Returning to Universal Music Latin Entertainment

It’s a special homecoming of sorts for Alejandra Guzmán

The 49-year-old Mexican rock star has inked a deal with Universal Music Latin Entertainment, according to Billboard.

Guzman returns to the label, signing a new record deal for “multiple albums,” according to a statement from UMLE — which already owns part of Guzmán’s catalog, along with albums released by EMI Capitol.

“On behalf of the Universal Music family, it brings us great pleasure to be able to work with the biggest star of Latin Rock, personally it’s of great joy to me for our paths to cross again after 20 years,” Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula Jesús López said in a statement.

“Alejandra’s energy, enthusiasm, and creativity is overwhelming and has already spread within the team. Nothing is more exciting for all of us than working on the most awaited tour gathering, Guzman and Gloria Trevi together. Alejandra, welcome home.”

“I’m happy to be here in Universal and be part of this family, you really make me feel proud, I’m motivated and healthy to keep going for another 28 years,” the singer/songwriter added.

Guzmán will kick off the Versus Tour with Trevi June 3 in Los Angeles making other stops in U.S. cities including Chicago, Dallas and Houston.
