Mariah Carey is celebrating the holidays in a big way this year…
The 50-year-old half-Venezuelan American songbird is celebrating the 25-year anniversary of her Merry Christmas record with a special 2-CD deluxe anniversary edition.
The new edition will feature the original album and a bonus disc with rare remixes and unreleased live performances.
Carey announced the re-release via Twitter on Monday, September 23, posting a glamorous video of the songstress writing out the message in her festive red lipstick on a mirror while her exalted “All I Want for Christmas Is You” plays in the background. She’s also releasing new holiday merchandise, including MC-branded T-shirts, sweatshirts, stockings and beanies.
“I don’t want to get excited, I’m going to calm down. Christmas is happening — we got to get through Halloweenand Thanksgiving first,” she said before giggling to her jingle.
From the bonus disc in the double deluxe set, fans can expect unreleased live tracks from her 1994 Christmas performance at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City and a new rendition of “Sugar Plum Fairy.” Pre-order bundles also come with early access to tickets for her upcoming U.S. tour.
