Sheila E. to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award from Roland Corp. & Drum Workshop

Sheila E. has earned a special recognition…

The 67-year-old Mexican American singer, drummer, songwriter and bandleader – known as the The Queen of Percussion – will receive a lifetime achievement award from Roland Corporation, Drum Workshop and Boss Corporation.

Sheila ESheila E will be honored alongside English musician Gary Numan and fellow drummers Jim Keltner and Patrice Rushen and guitarist Steve Stevens during The NAMM Show on Thursday, January 23 at 11:00 am in Anaheim, Calif.

Roland and Drum Workshop will present Lifetime Achievement Awards to Rushen and Sheila E. These awards recognize individuals for their contributions while using Roland and Drum Workshop gear throughout their careers.

Roland will honor Numan and Keltner with Roland Lifetime Achievement Awards. These awards recognize individuals for their contributions to the music industry while using Roland gear throughout their careers.

Roland introduced its annual Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2016. Previous honorees include Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Thomas Dolby, Jean-Michel Jarre, DJ Pierre, Omar Hakim and Nick Rhodes.

Stevens will be the BOSS 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award honoree. The Roland and BOSS Lifetime Achievement Awards recognize individuals for their contributions while using BOSS gear throughout their careers.

Numan and Sheila E. have each landed top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 as artists, with “Cars” (1980) and “The Glamorous Life” (1984), respectively.

Sheila E received a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
