It’s official… Danny Trejo will have American audiences feeling the burn next year.
Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired the North America distribution rights to the 70-year-old Mexican American actor’s zombie thriller The Burning Dead, co-starring Tom Downey.
Directed by Rene Perez, the film centers on a sheriff who must rescue an estranged family from a mountain during a volcano eruption and fight off a horde of lava-filled zombies brought to life by a curse.
Jeff Miller and Jason Ancona wrote and produced the film, which also stars Moniqua Plante (Nashville) and Robert F. Lyons (Death Wish II, Murphy’s Law).
Uncork’d will release the film in early 2015.
