Fabrizio Copano to Release First English-Language Special “From the Future” in July

Fabrizio Copano is switching tongues for laughs…

The 36-year-old Chilean comedian will release his first English-language special, From the Future, exclusively through 800 Pound Gorilla Media on July 14.

Fabrizio CopanoThe hour special will be available everywhere comedy is streamed or sold starting on July 29.

In the special, Copano talks about identity, fatherhood and cultural whiplash, capturing humor in the ride through the immigrant experience, millennial parenting, and the absurdity of living between two cultures.

The special is also about claiming a new identity while trying not to lose his old one.

Copano became a U.S. citizen soon after completing this special thanks to a joke about the President that made him think, “Okay, before I drop this special, maybe I should make sure I can actually stay in the country.”

A Comedy Cellar regular currently based in New York City, Copano started his comedy career 20 years ago in Chile, where him and his friends had to build a comedy scene from the ground up. Inspired by American stand-ups like Eddie Murphy and Lewis Black, he started doing stand-up in coffee shops and grew to become one of Latin America’s most well known and highly regarded comics, as well as the first South American to shoot an original comedy special for Netflix. In addition to 2017’s Solo pienso en mi for that streamer, he put out the Spanish-language special Live from Caupolicán in 2024.

Previously, Copano co-wrote and starred in one of Chile’s highest grossing comedies, 2013’s Barrio Universitario.

His credits also include writing and starring in the Chilean comedy show El Club de la Comedia, hosting late-night show El Late de Copano, and hosting La Culpa es de Colon for Comedy Central Latin America.

He was included in Just For Laughs’ 2022 New Faces cohort, was part of CBS’s 2025 Comics to Watch Showcase, and made his American late-night debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
