Santiago Cabrera’s Suspense Thriller “Salvation” Renewed for Second Season

CBS has given a 13-episode second-season pickup to the suspense thriller Salvation, starring the 39-year-old Venezuelan-born Chilean-British actor.

The second season of Salvation is set to air in summer 2018.

Salvation, which had a decent freshman performance by summer ratings standards and is owned by CBS, centers on Liam Cole, an MIT grad student, and Darius Tanz, a tech superstar, who bring Pentagon official Grace Barrows a staggering discovery – that an asteroid is just months away from colliding with Earth. Now with the added threat of nuclear war on the horizon, they work together with Secretary of Defense Harris Edwards to find a way to divert the asteroid, stop the war and save humanity before time runs out.

In addition to Cabrera, the series stars Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance and Ian Anthony Dale.

Cabrera to Star in CBS’ Summer Drama Series “Salvation”

The 38-year-old Venezuelan-born Chilean actor will star opposite Charlie Rowe and Jennifer Finnigan in CBS summer drama series Salvation, which hails from Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout and CBS Television Studios.

The first episode will be directed and executive-produced by Oscar-nominated Spanish filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

Salvation follows whip-smart MIT grad student Liam (Rowe) and tech billionaire Darius Tanz (Cabrera) who bring to a low-level Pentagon official (Finnigan) a staggering discovery: An asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth. Liam and Darius team to launch a secret project to save the planet — a secret Liam must keep from the ones he loves.

In addition to Rowe and Finnigan, Cabrera joins previously announced series regulars Jacqueline Byers and Ian Anthony Dale.

Cabrera is known for his role as Aramis on BBC’s The Musketeers. His television credits also include The Mindy Project, Merlin, Heroes and the HBO movie Hemingway and Gelhorn.

He’ll next be seen in HBO’s Big Little Lies, opposite Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, and the feature film Transformers: The Last Knight.

The 38-year-old Venezuelan-born Chilean actor is starring in Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight, the fifth installment in the Transformers franchise.

Mark WahlbergJosh DuhamelTyrese Gibson and Stanley Tucci are set to reprise their roles as Cade Yaeger, William Lennox, Robert Epps and Joshua Joyce respectively in the action flick.

Written by Art Marcum, Matt Halloway and Ken Nolan, the movie follows Optimus Prime who finds his home planet, Cybertron, now a dead planet. Thinking that he’s responsible for its demise, he finds a way to bring the planet back to life. However, in order to do so he needs to find an artifact on Earth.

Cabrera’s previous credits include appearances on The Mindy Project, Covert Affairs, Merlin, Dexter, The Musketeers and Heroes.

Transformers: The Last Knight is coming to U.S. theaters on June 23, 2017.

BBC America Sets June Premiere Date for Cabrera’s “The Musketeers”

It’ll be “all for one and one for all” in the U.S. for Santiago Cabrera this summer…

BBC America has set a June 22 premiere date for The Musketeers, which stars the 35-year-old Venezuelan-born Chilean actor and former Heroes star.

The Musketeers, a BBC Drama production for BBC One, has also received a second-season pick up from the network.

It was renewed by the flagship BBC network last month.

The series – a contemporary take on the classic Alexandre Dumas characters, The Musketeers – was created by Adrian Hodges (My Week With Marilyn). It’s set on the streets of 17th century Paris, where law and order is an idea more than a reality.

In addition to being King Louis XIII’s personal bodyguards, Athos, Aramis and Porthos stand resolutely for social justice, honor, valor, love — and for the thrill of it.

Cabrera portrays Aramis in the series alongside Luke Pasqualino (The Borgias) stars as D’Artagnan, Tom Burke (Great Expectations) as Athos and Howard Charles (Royal Shakespeare Company) as Porthos.

In the United Kingdom, the 10-episode The Musketeers got off to a strong start with the premiere drawing 9.3 million viewers to become BBC’s biggest new drama launch in two years. Ratings subsequently dipped, with the finale this past Sunday averaging 3.9 million viewers.

The 34-year-old Chilean actor has been cast in BBC One/BBC America’s co-production of The Musketeers, a 10-part series that aims to breathe new life into Alexandre Dumas’ classic tale.

The Musketeers is a contemporary take on the classic story about a group of highly trained soldiers and bodyguards assigned to protect the crown and the country. It’s set on the streets of 17th century Paris and will feature a fresh story each week, kicking off when skilled fighter D’Artagnan meets Musketeers Athos, Aramis and Porthos while on a mission to avenge his father’s death.

“This series is all about passion, romance, heroism and action,” says the series’ scribe Adrian Hodges.

Cabrera will portray one of the titular Musketeers, alongside The Hour’s Tom Burke and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Howard Charles. The Hour’s Peter Capaldi will play the shadowy Cardinal Richelieu and The BorgiasLuke Pasqualiano has been cast as D’Artagnan.

Cabrera’s previous credits include Merlin and Heroes.

Shooting on The Musketeers starts next month.

Cabrera to Guest Star on “Dexter” Next Season

Santiago Cabrera has the write stuff to guest-star on Dexter…

The 34-year-old Chilean actor has signed on for a recurring role on the upcoming seventh season of Showtime’s serial killer drama Dexter.

Cabrera is set to portray Ethan Price, an investigative writer behind true crime books about notable murder cases, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The news of Cabrera’s casting comes as the popular series starring Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter is set to reopen some old cases thanks to the addition of Chuck‘s Yvonne Strahovski. She’ll play Hannah a mysterious woman the Miami Metro Police Department turns to for assistance.

Cabrera, who has starred in NBC’s Heroes and the BBC’s Merlin actor, joins a cast that features Katia Winter as a Russian stripper who works at a Miami club; Jason Gedrick, who will play the manager of the same Miami strip club; and Ray Stevenson, who has been cast as the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate

The new season of Dexter is set to premiere on September 30 on Showtime.
