Gomez’s Final Wizards Episode Airing Tonight

It’s the end of the road for Selena Gomez and her Wizards of Waverly Place co-stars…

The 19-year-old half-Mexican-American actress/singer’s hit Disney Channel program will come to a magical close with tonight’s series-ending episode.

Selena Gomez

“It’s very much affecting me,” Gomez told TV Guide during taping of the finale episode. “I’ve been quiet, keeping to myself, and everyone keeps asking me what’s wrong. They keep saying to have fun, end on a high note.”

Wizards of Waverly Place has proven to be one of the most popular shows in Disney Channel history during its four seasons. During its run, the series reached more than 182 million viewers in 169 countries in 32 different languages. And, it even scored a 2009 Emmy for Outstanding Children’s Program.

As the show winds down, creator Todd Greenwald has managed to do his best to keep the results of the wizard competition in tonight’s finale a surprise for everyone.

That meant handing the final four script pages to the cast an hour before the last scenes were shot so that “when they were on stage, it was like watching it all unfold for the first time,” he explained after production wrapped.

“It was definitely satisfying and the actors, who were playfully jockeying to see who would win the competition, didn’t see [this ending] coming. I think the audience will be happy with how it turns out.”

Wizards of Waverly Place airs Friday at 8:00 pm ET on Disney Channel.

But the Wizards of Waverly Place star isn’t making the final touches to her scent without a little help from her fans.

She’s released a new video asking them to help choose its final scents for her fragrance.

“I want to give you guys a chance to help me customize my new scents,” says Gomez in the clip. “I’ve been working really hard, and I’ve narrowed it down to a few possible notes, but I need your help in selecting the right ones.”

Fans can pick between Apple, Raspberry or Melon for top notes; Purple Freesia and Pink Jasmine for the heart notes; and Vanilla or Coconut for the base notes.

Selena Gomez’s highly anticipated video for the thumping-hot single is officially online.

Released on Wednesday, the “Hit the Lights” video portrays the 19-year-old part-Mexican singer/actress as a real free spirit with a keen fashion sense. After all, it wouldn’t be a video without Gomez changing into several oh-so-haute outfits and accessories.

The video features Gomez frolicking in cornfields, riding in the back of a pick-up truck and dancing up a storm at a late-night rave.

The message of the video: have fun, live your life and throw caution to the wind!

“The song ‘Hit the Lights’ is that missed opportunity. The dreams that you wish you would go for and basically the song is just encouraging people to [let] loose and have fun and be young and crazy,” the Wizards of Waverly Place star explained. “This video is more organic than anything I’ve done before. It’s about being with people you love and enjoying the moment and embracing the moment you’re in your life.”

“Hit the Lights” is the latest single released from Gomez’s album, “When the Sun Goes Down.”
