Andrade to Star in ABC’s Pilot “Marvel’s Most Wanted”

The 32-year-old Brazilian actress has joined the cast of ABC’s pilot Marvel’s Most Wanted, the upcoming television pilot based on the character of Bobbi Morse.

Andrade will portray Christina Santos, the tough-as-nails niece of Dominic Fortune (Delroy Lindo). Fortune and Santos work side-by-side appearing to help Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki), and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) while also pursuing their own agenda.

Marvel’s Most Wanted originated as an Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff revolving around Palicki and Blood‘s characters.

It was created and written by S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski, who executive produce with Jeph Loeb for Marvel Television and ABC Studios.

Andrade’s previous credits include the surprise hit film The Devil Inside and For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story.

Roday to Star in the Drama “Baby, Baby, Baby”

The 38-year-old Mexican American actor stars in actor-writer-director Brian Klugman’s drama Baby, Baby, Baby.

The film follows a writer navigating life and relationships, and it tracks the relationship between two mismatched people who try to move past their baggage to make their love work.

Klugman stars as a writer of short stories living in Los Angeles whose mind wanders into fantasy asides starring famous people reflecting the state of his relationship.

Adrianne Palicki and Michaela Conlin star as the two women in his life, with Conlin playing Klugman’s ex-girlfriend and Palicki as the painter he moves on with.

In addition to Roday, Kulgman, Palicki and Conlin, the film also stars Kelsey Grammer and Kelly McCreary, as well as features a number of celebrity cameos that are being kept under wraps.

 

Baby, Baby, Baby shot for 22 days on location in LA and will feature music by Rilo Kiley’s Blake Sennett.

El Rey Network Picks Up Garcia’s “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” for a Second Season

El Rey Network has picked up the Mexican/Spanish-American actor’s new series From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series for a 13-episode second season. Garcia portrays Texas Ranger Freddie Gonzalez on the series.

The announcement comes only two weeks after the network’s first original series debuted.

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series has been earning bank  from distribution pacts, including a deal with Netflix, which carries the series in key international territories and is on board for Season 2, and a DVD/EST agreement with eOne for the U.S. and Canada, which makes From Dusk Till Dawn episodes available on Amazon, iTunes, Sony Playstation, Xbox, Vudu, Google Play, Cinemanow, Blackberry and Target Ticket after their El Rey premiere.

“As the television landscape becomes even more crowded, it’s important for El Rey Network to have a recurring and memorable franchise that speaks to our audience and allows us to break away from the noise of all the competition,” El Rey vice chair Scott Sassa said. “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is most certainly that kind of property and we are thrilled with the response from our affiliate partners, advertisers, viewers and the international community.”

From Dusk Till Dawn is based on the cult classic film of the same name by the network’s co-founder Robert Rodriguez, who created the series and directed four of the first season’s installments.

“This is a truly unique property and one that has really resonated for viewers,” he said. “It has been a joy to bring these characters back to life and have the opportunity to take our storytelling to a whole new place.”

In addition to Garcia, From Dusk Till Dawn’s international cast includes D.J. Cotrona, Zane Holtz, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Don Johnson, Madison Davenport, Lane Garrison, Robert Patrick, and Brandon Soo Hoo.
