Alana de la Garza is going beyond borders…

The 39-year-old half-Mexican American actress has booked a series regular role opposite Gary Sinise on CBS’ Criminal Minds planted offshoot Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

Like Criminal Minds, which centers on the FBI’s Analysis Unit, Beyond Borders focuses on a division of the FBI. It follows agents helping American citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad.

de la Garza, who recently landed a recurring role on CBSScorpion, will play Clara, a smart, well-traveled cultural anthropologist on the International Response Team.

de la Garza played the female lead on ABC’s Forever. Her previous television credits include Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Los Angeles, as well as the short-lived series Do No Harm.

Like the original series, Beyond Borders hails from ABC Studios, CBS Television Studios and the Mark Gordon Co.

de la Garza Lands Recurring Role on CBS’ Drama Series “Scorpion”

The 39-year-old half-Mexican American actress has been cast in a recurring role on the second season of CBS’ drama series Scorpion.

de la Garza, who recently played the female lead on the ABC drama Forever, will portray the smart, tough and driven new Head of Homeland Security who needs the Scorpion team to be successful. But is it because it’s best for the team or because it’s best for her?

de la Garza’s character will succeed Homeland Security Director Merrick (David Fabrizio) who in the Season 1 finale relegated Cabe (Robert Patrick) to a desk job at the Pomona airport, prompting Cabe to quit.

The Season 2 opener, slated for September 21, will find Cabe taking a job as a Hollywood tech advisor until he is summoned back by the new head of Homeland Security to reassume his old position as a liaison for the Scorpion team.

Scorpion is executive produced by Roberto Orci and more for CBS Television Studios.

de la Garza to Star in ABC’s Drama Pilot “Forever”

Alana de la Garza has landed a forever role…

The 37-year-old Half-Mexican American actress has landed the female lead role opposite Ioan Gruffudd in ABC’s drama pilot Forever.

Written by Matthew Miller and directed by Brad Anderson, the project centers on Dr. Henry Morgan (Gruffudd), New York City’s star medical examiner.

What no one knows is that he studies the dead for a reason — he’s immortal.

His investigative work with recently widowed detective Jo Martinez (portrayed by de la Garza), a recovering alcoholic, and relationship with best friend Abe (Judd Hirsch) will peel back the layers of Henry’s colorful and long life.

de la Garza, best known for her role as ADA Connie Rubirosa on the television series Law & Order, most recently co-starred on NBC’s short-lived series Do No Harm. Her other credits include All My Children, JAG, Charmed, Two and a Half Men, Las Vegas and CSI: Miami.

de la Garza Gives Birth to Second Child

Alana de la Garza is back to changing diapers…

The 37-year-old half-Mexican American actress gave birth to a baby girl last Sunday, July 7, as confirmed by Us Weekly.

de la Garza’s new bundle of joy arrived just five months after she announced her pregnancy back in January. “We are beyond excited to meet our baby girl!” she gushed back then.

No other details about the newborn have been announced, but the baby is a second child for the former Law & Order star and her husband Michael Roberts.

The newborn tot joins big sister Kieran who was born in September 2010.

de la Garza wed longtime boyfriend Michael, a writer, on May 31, 2008 in Orlando.

Her on-screen credits include Smallville, Charmed and CSI: Miami. She also starred as neurologist Lena Solis on NBC’s canceled series Do No Harm.

de la Garza’s “Do No Harm” Returning to NBC This June

If you missed Alana de la Garza’s short-lived series Do No Harm, you’re in luck.

NBC has scheduled the remaining episodes of the 36-year-old half-Mexican American actress’ drama series to run this summer.

Do No Harm, which only aired two episodes before being cancelled, has 11 unaired episodes remaining.

The Jekyll & Hyde-inspired medical drama will be back on the air on Saturdays at 10:00 pm beginning on June 29, according The Futon Critic.

de la Garza Expecting Her Second Child

Her latest television project may have been axed by NBC, but that isn’t affecting Alana de la Garza’s spirits…

The 36-year-old half-Mexican-American actress, whose new series Do No Harm was cancelled after airing two low-rated episodes, is expecting her second child.

The former Law and Order actress’ rep revealed the news exclusively to Us Weekly.

“We are beyond excited to meet our baby girl!” de la Garza and her husband, writer Michael Roberts, told Us in a statement. The couple are already parents to 2-year-old son Kieran.

De la Garza has also previously starred on CSI: Miami, and had guest-starring roles on Charmed, Smallville, and Two and a Half Men.

Despite her show’s recent cancellation, de la Garza is remaining positive.

“To all my peeps…Thank you for your warm wishes about #DoNoHarm,” she tweeted to fans on Saturday, Feb. 9. “Such a bummer. I will miss getting to hang with that gang! It was so fun.”

“Alas, this is the way things go sometimes,” she continued. “Onward to our new adventures!”

Miranda to Appear on NBC’s “Do No Harm”

Lin-Manuel Miranda is taking his career to new heights… as he return to television with another guest-starring role.

The 32-year-old Puerto Rican actor, composer, rapper and  lyricist has signed on for a recurring role on NBC’s midseason drama Do No Harm.

Starring Steven Pasquale, the series centers on Jeffrey Kohn, a brilliant neurosurgeon wrestling with his dangerous alter ego who threatens to wreak havoc on his personal and professional life.

Miranda—best known for writing and starring in the Broadway musical In the Heights, which earned him  a Tony Award as composer and lyricist and a Grammy—will play the attending clinical pharmacologist at a Philadelphia hospital who works to help Jeffrey.

Most recently Miranda had a two-episode arc on the Fox’s drama House. And he appeared in an episode of HBO’s The Sopranos.
