Matthew Reilly, the Australian action-thriller writer known for books like Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves, Seven Ancient Wonders, and The Tournament, is on board to direct the feature from a screenplay he wrote with screenwriter Stuart Beattie.

The film follows an Army lieutenant who must utilize her years of tactical training and military expertise to save humanity when sixteen nuclear missiles are launched at the U.S., and a violent coordinated attack simultaneously threatens her remote missile interceptor station.

“As those people who have read my novels know, I love telling big action stories that are told at a frenetic pace,” said Reilly. “I wanted to bring that kind of rocket-fast, relentless, high-stakes storytelling to film, and so Interceptor was born. Elsa is just perfect as our lead: a strong, independent and determined woman who, in the face of overwhelming odds, just refuses to give up.”

Production is slated to take place in New South Wales, Australia.

Pataky starred in Netflix’s first Australian original series, Tidelands.

The happy couple welcomed the infants into the world at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. No other info has been released.

Us confirmed back in November 2013 that Hemsworth, 30, and the Fast and the Furious actress were expecting twins. The pair is already parents to daughter India Rose, 23 months.

Hemsworth, who tied the knot with Pataky in 2010, opened up about fatherhood in the October 2013 issue of Parade. “I think [parenthood] brings out the child in all of us,” he said. “That’s what’s so beautiful. It reminds you of the fascination you had with things, and how you can spend hours just being with someone. It’s amazing.”

On March 3, Pataky looked like she was ready to burst when she showed off her large baby bump next to Hemsworth at the 86th Academy Awards in a green sequined Elie Saab gown.
