Ricardo Villalobos Added to the Time Warp Festival Lineup

The 49-year-old Chilean electronic music producer and DJ will be added to this year’s Time Warp festival, takes its techno fever dream back to its hometown of Mannheim, Germany after a big 25th anniversary blow-out in North and South America.

It’s a planned 19 hours of nonstop music from some of the biggest and brightest names digging underground sounds, with headline sets from longtime favorites Adam BeyerJamie Jonesand Richie Hawtin, among others. 

“Time Warp was emotional,” Hawtin is quoted in a press release of last year’s 25-year celebration. “This moment was cinematic. Time Warp represents a family. This celebration of life means so much. I will remember this moment for the rest of my life.”

In addition to Villalobos, a minimal techno titan, the lineup will also include sets by foundational French house and techno funk fiend Laurent Garnier, and German techno revoutionairy Sven Vath

Scene stalwarts Seth TroxlerSolomunMaceo PlexAmelie Lens, Charlotte de WitteDJ Koze, The Black Madonna, Kink and more round out the seriously stacked bill.

It will take place at Maimarkthalle in Mannheim Saturday, April 4.

Maceo Plex to Play at Next Year’s BPM Festival in Mexico

Eric Estornel, better known by his stage name Maceo Plex, is headed south of the border.

The 37-year-old Cuban electronic-music DJ and producer has been added to the deep and diverse slate of artists set to play at next year’s BPM Festival.

Maceo Plex is best known for diverse production style, influenced primarily by house and techno, as well as a longtime performer for many Ibiza-based clubs, including Space and Amnesia.

The 10-day festival will take place in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, from January 8-17, 2016.

While artists are listed alphabetically, Marco Carola, Plex, Guy Gerber, Gorgon City, Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber and Tale of Us are just a few of the top house and techno talent that attendees can expect to catch.

Announced showcases include All Day I Dream, Circoloco, Life and Death, tINI & the Gang and Visionquest.

Last year’s edition offered more than 375 artists at day and night events spanning nine total venues.
