Constance Marie to Star in Season 2 on Netflix’s Ted Danson-Led Series “A Man On The Inside”

The 59-year-old Mexican American actress has joined the cast of Netflix’s comedy series A Man On The Inside for the second season of the Ted Danson-fronted series.

Constance MarieCreated by Mike Schur, A Man on the Inside centers on Charles (Danson), a retired man who gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a private investigator and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.

Season 2 will see Charles (Danson) going undercover at a college.

Marie will play Vanessa, a former con artist who serves as a part-time-source on the criminal underworld for Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada).

The series is taking on an anthology format, with Charles tackling a new case each season.

In Season 1, he went undercover at a retirement home. The new destination for Season 2 was telegraphed at the end of Season 1, when Charles started offering his services as a guest lecturer.

A Man on the Inside is based on The Mole Agent, a 2021 Oscar nominee for Best Documentary feature. Schur executive produces the series via Fremulon alongside Morgan Sackett, David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment, Maite Alberdi and Marcela Santibañez of Micromundo Producciones,

Best known for her roles as in George Lopez (2002–2007) and the film Selena, Marie most recently starred in Amazon’s With Love. Her other credits include Undone, Law & Order True Crime, Switched at Birth and Elena of Avalor.

Chile Selects Maite Alberdi’s “The Mole Agent” for International Oscar Consideration

The 37-year-old Chilean producer, director, documentarian and screenwriter’s documentary The Mole Agent will represent Chile in the International Oscar race this year.

The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival back in January. It follows a private investigator in Chile who hires someone to work as a mole at a retirement home where a client of his suspects the caretakers of elder abuse. Marcela Santibañez produced.

Gravitas Ventures is handling U.S. rights on the film, which is now streaming on Hulu. The movie will launch on POV on January 25.

The deadline for submissions to the Oscar race is December 1, with the 2021 ceremony scheduled to take place on April 25. The shortlist for the International Oscar will be unveiled February 9 and nominations will be announced March 15.
