Kali Uchis Releases New Single “I Wish You Roses”

Everything’s coming up roses for Kali Uchis

The 28-year-old Colombian American genre-blending singer/songwriter has released her latest single “I Wish You Roses,” along with the track’s music video.

Kali UchisProduced by Dylan Wiggins and Josh Crocker, the new single follows Uchis’ recent songs “La Única” and “No Hay Ley.”

“This song is about being able to release people with love. It could be a friend, a lover, or someone else, but the point is to celebrate releasing people from your life without being resentful or bitter,” says Uchis about the single.

The single showcases Uchis’ power as a hook creator; her ability to conjure lush choruses and sing them with verve and tenacity nods to the artist stepping more into the mainstream this year.

Uchis released her studio album, Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞, in 2020.

She’s set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April.

It’s a lawless time for Kali Uchis.

The 28-year-old Colombian American singer-songwriter has released the club-ready anthem with “No Hay Ley.”

Kali UchisUchis’ first new track since her Grammy-nominated album Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) is powered by a hypnotizing beat that will get everyone on the dance floor.

In the bilingual track, Uchis sings about a forbidden love affair, declaring, “No importa lo que digan, yo te besaré otra vez.”

“I wrote this song about putting love above all else,” Uchis says. “En el amor no hay ley means there are no laws to love. Be with who makes you happy, and don’t listen to what anyone else has to say about it because it wasn’t their business in the first place!”
