Selena Gomez to Star in the Psychological Thriller “Spiral”

Things are about to spiral for Selena Gomez…

Picturestart has come on board to produce the psychological thriller Spiral, starring the 28-year-old Mexican American actress.

Petra Collins is directing the film, while Drake is on board to exec produce with Matthew Budman & Sumaiya Kaveh, who are producing through their Forest Hill Entertainment.

The story follows a former influencer whose addiction to social media is causing her body to literally fall apart. Phoebe Fisher penned the most recent version with Collins and Melissa Broder penning a previous draft. Given the star power attached, this package should gain a ton of attention as it makes it way around town.

Gomez most recently finished the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building, which also stars Steve Martin and Martin Short. She also is returning to voice Mavis in Sony Animation’s Hotel Transylvania: Transformia.

Selena Gomez is (marsh)mello-ing out on her next album…

The 25-year-old Mexican American singer/actress’ new album will feature a song with Marshmello, the “Fetish” singer confirmed during a recent radio interview.

Gomez spoke with San Diego’s Energy 103.7 about her track with the DJ, which she says is “beautiful” and “one of my favorite songs.”

“It’s really cool. It’s kind of in that world, his world, and I’m stepping into it and bringing my style too,” she said.

Gomez isn’t saying much about a release date for the Marshmello collaboration — and, for that matter, one for her upcoming, as-yet-untitled LP, which she says is “on some level done.”

“There’s a lot more music that’s coming,” she promised.

News about the song with Marshmello comes after the pop star’s recent release of her Petra Collins-directed video for “Fetish,” her latest single, featuring Gucci Mane.
