Howie Dorough may be heading to Sin City

The 42-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer and his fellow Backstreet Boys band mates may possibly launch a concert residency in Las Vegas in the near future, according to Nick Carter.

Backstreet Boys

“We have a deal with Live Nation, which is the touring company, and we just signed a 9-show deal to do sort of like a test run in Vegas with the residency,” Carter told ET at the Los Angeles premiere of his SyFy zombie western, Dead 7.

“So that’s definitely going to happen, but we’re going to do a trial run first.”

“It would definitely have to be a very big and spectacular show. Thankfully, we have a good catalog so we can perform all of our hits. That could take up a lot of the show,” Carter said.

Carter recently revealed that a new Backstreet Boys album is coming, which bandmate Kevin Richardson confirmed at the premiere.

“We’re definitely in the studio, recording a brand-new album,” Richardson said, adding, “We’re gonna do a world tour first.”

Fresnadillo to Direct Amblin Entertainment’s “Haunted”

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is turning a new leaf…

The 48-year-old Spanish filmmaker is set to direct Amblin Entertainment’s Haunted, a film that is inspired by the 1898 Henry James gothic ghost story Turn of the Screw.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo

Penned by Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes, the film is considered a passion project for Steven Spielberg, who really wanted to make a horror film.

Fresnadillo’s breakout film was 28 Weeks Later; his Spanish-language directing debut was Intacto, this after he received an Oscar nomination for his short film Linked.

Lately Fresnadillo, a Goya Award winner for Best New Director, has been busy working in television: He directed the pilot Falling Water, which got picked up by USA Network and was done under his overall deal with Universal Cable Productions.

He’s prepping to next direct Prototype, a UCP pilot for a Syfy series that he’s will also executive produce.

Ramos to Star in Syfy’s Futuristic Pilot “Incorporated”

Eddie Ramos is headed to the Red Zone…

The 23-year-old Latino has been cast as one of the leads in the Syfy pilot Incorporated.

Eddie Ramos

Ramos joins Sean Teale and Georgina Haig in the futuristic pilot, which is set in 2062 in a world where climate change has ravaged the planet, ethical boundaries have been redrawn and American cities have become a mix of the luxurious and the medieval.

Haig will star as Laura, who is married to Ben (Teale), a rising star in a mega-corporation called Chrysalis who is determined to climb the rickety, bloodstained ladder of success. Laura is a successful plastic surgeon who’s also the daughter of Ben’s boss. While Ben and Laura make their home in the lush, manicured Green Zone of the well-to-do, Theo (Ramos) dwells in the dangerous, poverty-stricken Red Zone and might provide a surprising connection to Ben’s past.

Ramos has appeared on several television series including Teen Wolf, NCIS: Los Angeles and Parenthood.

Created by David and Alex Pastor, who wrote and will direct the pilot, Incorporated will explore the growing influence of corporations and private interests in Washington, the slow but steady dismantling of the public sector and the increase of an amazing amount of wealth by an ever-shrinking minority.

The drama hails from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Pearl Street Productions, CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions.

Syfy Picks Up Acevedo’s “12 Monkeys” for a Second Season

Kirk Acevedo will be monkeying around another season…

Syfy has ordered a second season of adventure thriller 12 Monkeys, starring the 43-year-old half-Puerto Rican actor, to air in 2016.

Mendez to Direct Syfy’s Original TV Movie “Lavalantula”

Mike Mendez is ready to spin Los Angeles into his web

The Latino filmmaker is set to direct Syfy’s Lavalantula, which will be released next summer.

Lavantula

The original television movie sees a defenseless Los Angeles under attack by a swarm of giant lava-breathing tarantulas that roast their prey alive!

The film will see the reunion of three key cast members from the Police Academy franchise: Steve Guttenberg — starring as a washed-up ’90s action hero who must save the world — Leslie Easterbrook and Michael Winslow.

Nia Peeples co-stars in the movie, which has begun production for a summer 2015 premiere. Lavalantula certainly has some mega-arachnid cred behind the camera:

Mendez previously helmed another arachnophobic film, Big Ass Spider.
