Tom Segura to Host Two New Netflix Stand-Up Specials

The 43-year-old half-Peruvian American comedian will host two new stand-up special for Netflix viewers.

Tom SeguraSegura, a New York Times bestselling author, podcast host and actor, will host his fifth and sixth comedy specials for the streamer, with the first slated to premiere in 2023.

Segura, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, is well known for his Netflix specials Ball HogDisgracefulCompletely Normal, and Mostly Stories.

He has also made feature film appearances that include Instant FamilyCountdownFlinch, and The Opening Act, among others.

Segura is one of the top-selling touring acts in the world, having sold hundreds of thousands of tickets on multiple international tours.

Additionally, he co-hosts two of the most popular comedy podcasts, “Your Mom’s House,” with his wife, comedian Christina P. and “Two Bears, One Cave” with fellow comedian Bert Kreischer.

Segura also produces multiple podcasts under his YMH Studios brand.

He recently published I’d Like To Play Alone Please, which debuted at #2 on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Segura, who grew up in a half Peruvian/half American household speaking fluent Spanish, has been staking his claim in Latin America making a crossover and performing in both English and Spanish. He also launched a podcast in Spanish called Tom Segura En Español to polish his Spanish-language skills.

The 42-year-old half-Peruvian American comedian, actor and podcaster has signed with WME (William Morris Endeavor) for representation in all areas.

While he’d planned to unveil an additional Spanish-language special on Netflix last fall, its release has been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Segura previously released the hour-long stand-up albums White Girls With Cornrows and Thrilled in 2012 and 2010, respectively.

He’ll kick off his latest world tour, I’m Coming Everywhere on December 31, with two shows at the Hawaii Theater Center in Honolulu, and will continue touring throughout 2022.

Segura’s film credits include Paramount Pictures’ comedy Instant Family, in which he starred opposite Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne, comedian Steve Byrne’s The Opening ActJustin Dec’s horror-thriller Countdown and Cameron Van Hoy’s crime drama Flinch.

He’s appeared on the television side in The Cabin with Bert KreischerWorkaholicsHappy Endings and more.

Segura also has his own podcast network, Your Mom’s House Studios, which he runs with his wife, comedian Christina Pazsitzky. It’s home to the hit podcasts Your Mom’s House, which he co-hosts with Pazsitzky, and 2 Bears 1 Cave, which he co-hosts with Bert Kreischer, among others. Notably, YMH Studios was one of the first networks to create successful livestream podcast events as a creative outlet amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disrupted the stand-up scene to varying degrees over the last 20 or so months.

The 44-year-old Mexican American stand-up comedian and actor will be bringing the laughs to Netflix with his first original comedy special Felipe Esparza: Bad Decisions.

And, the bilingual special will go by the title: Felipe Esparza: Malas Decisiones in Spanish

Esparza’s specials will be released globally on Tuesday, September 1.

Filmed in Santa Ana, California as two separate performances — one in English and one in Spanish — the specials showcase Esparza’s edgy style of humor as the perfect vehicle to weave through difficult anecdotes of his childhood and mistakes in his adult life with ease.

Bad Decisions/Malas Decisiones mark the first time a Netflix comedian has recorded a stand up special in two languages that are set to be released simultaneously.

The comedian won Last Comic Standing in 2010. Prior to Bad Decisions/Malas Decisiones, Esparza had two comedy specials including They’re Not Gonna Laugh At You(2012) on Showtime and Translate This (2017) on HBO.

He can be seen in the upcoming Steve Byrne comedy feature The Opening Act, as well as the feature 7th & Union. His television credits include NBC’s Superstoreand the Netflix series GentefiedHe’s also the host of the podcast What’s Up Fool, where he talks to random people he finds interesting.
