Esai Morales to Star in the Thriller “Live 2 Die”

Esai Morales is living in the moment….

The 63-year-old Puerto Rican actor will star opposite Josh Bowman, Mariela Garriga, Ron Perlman and Orlando Jones in the thriller Live 2 Die. 

Esai MoralesJesse Cove, Alyshia Osche, Maurice Compte, Alejandro De Hoyos, Tetiana Dar, José “Conejo” Martin, Guillermo Zapata and Christian Madsen also star.

Victor Rios is directing the film from a script by Jason Zimmatore.

The story is by Daniel Hayes.

A hardened LAPD detective (Bowman) investigating a string of missing persons uncovers a vast organ harvesting operation protected by powerful people.

The film will be produced by Jason Strickland, Jasmin Espada and Rios. Morales, Tony Sarandos, Nickie Davis, Daniel Hayes, Peter Lenkov, Charles Jones and Dr. Ed Haronian are executive producers.

“My eternal gratitude to Director and producer Victor Rios whose courage and sheer determination inspires me every day,” Espada. “His knowledge and love for film knows no bounds. His collaboration with the great cinematographer Gabriel Beristain in this film it is something to behold. The film noir genre has a new proponent.”

Morales is known for his versatility and ability to portray complex characters across genres. Morales’ film debut was in 1983’s Bad Boys as a youth offender, a role so convincing that he later struggled to avoid similar roles.

Alejandro De Hoyos is sending out a (trigger) warning…

The Mexican actor will star in Netflix’s action-thriller Trigger Warning.

De Hoyos rounds out a cast that includes Anthony Michael Hall, Mark Webber, Tone Bell, Jake Weary and Gabriel Basso.

The newly added actors join previously announced lead Jessica Alba in her first feature project since 2019’s Killers Anonymous.

Trigger Warning, directed by Mouly Surya, tells the story of Parker (Alba), an active-duty Special Forces officer described as a female John Wick. Parker takes ownership of her grandfather’s bar shortly after he dies, and soon finds herself at odds with the violent gang that killed him.

Filming is set to begin in New Mexico this fall.

De Hoyos’ previous credits include The Man from Toronto, The Bold and the Beautiful and Yise.
