The first trailer has been released for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming action-comedy The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring the 34-year-old Mexican actress and singer.
The film will be released on April 19.
The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced war movie stars Henry Cavill, González, Alan Ritchson, Henry Golding, Henrique Zaga, Alex Pettyfer, Cary Elwes, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusanmokun and Til Schweiger.
The true story covers Winston Churchill and Ian Fleming’s secret WWII combat organization. The clandestine squad’s unconventional and ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis helped change the course of the war and gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit.
The script by Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson, Arash Amel and Ritchie is based on war correspondent and military historian Damien Lewis’ best-selling book of the same name. Tamasy and Johnson initiated the project and sold it as a pitch to Bruckheimer and Paramount in 2015.
Black Bear arranged financing. Lionsgate is releasing domestically.
Gonzalez’s previous credits include Ambulance, Baby Driver and Bloodshot.

Lionsgate has picked up the domestic distribution rights to Guy Ritchie’s World War II film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring the 33-year-old Mexican actress/singer.
In addition to Gonzalez, the film also stars Henry Cavill, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer and Cary Elwes, among others.
The studio is targeting a 2024 wide theatrical release.
Prime Video has secured most of the international rights for the film, distributing across Europe, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, India and pan-Asian pay TV.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is billed as an “outrageous true story” about U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s and James Bond author Ian Fleming’s secret WWII combat organization.
As per a synopsis, “this clandestine squad’s unconventional and entirely ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis significantly changed the course of the war and gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit.”
Principal photography begins on Monday in Turkey. Acknowledging the devastating earthquake that has ravaged parts of the country, Ritchie and the producers noted that the shoot will take place “several hundred miles from the epicenter” of the disaster.
“We do so with profound sympathy for everyone affected,” said Ritchie in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the members of our crew with family in the region. We wish to express our sincere condolences to the people of Turkey. We stand by them and are committed to supporting members of our production team and the wider community over the coming weeks and months.”

The 36-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress will star in Guy Ritchie’s untitled thriller film, which began shooting in Doha, Qatar, this week.
Plaza stars opposite British rapper Bugzy Malone, Jason Statham and Cary Elwes in the project, which will also shoot in Antalya, Turkey.
The film reunites Ritchie with Statham, marking their second film together for Miramax following Wrath of Man.

In the film, MI6 guns-and-steel agent Orson Fortune (Statham) is recruited by a global intelligence agency to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert Sarah Fidel, Fortune sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds.
Ritchie will direct and produce from a screenplay written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies.
STX will distribute directly in the U.S., UK and Ireland.
Plaza’s previous film credits include Happiest Season, Ingrid Goes West and Dirty Grandpa.
Starting Monday, Quibi will stream an all-star remake of The Princess Bride filmed by actors at home while in quarantine, including the 17-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican American actress.
In addition to Ortega, the re-creation will feature an A-list cast that includes couples Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner,Common and Tiffany Haddish, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka and Chris Pine and Annabelle Wallis, along with Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, Elijah Wood, Jon Hamm, Beanie Feldstein, Lucas Hedges, Jack Black, David Oyelowo, Keegan-Michael Key, Patton Oswalt, Josh Gad, Andy Serkis, Diego Luna, Taika Waititi and Zazie Beetz and more.
Directed by Jason Reitman, the project will see Common playing the heroic Westley (originated by Cary Elwes), Haddish as Princess Buttercup (first played by Robin Wright), and Jackman as the villainous Humperdinck, to name a few.
The Princess Bride’s director, Rob Reiner, will also appear in the remake, along with Fred Savage, who reprises his role as the grandson in the film.
Beginning June 29, Quibi will release chapters of the made-at-home movie daily for two weeks.
The remake also is aiding a good cause. As part of the project, Quibi has donated $1 million to chef José Andrés’ charity World Central Kitchen, which provides meals to those who have been most affected by the coronaviruspandemic.

The 72-year-old Mexican Grammy-winning guitarist and entrepreneur will be taking part in a global livestream event to benefit the Amazon Emergency Fund, an indigenous-led effort providing rapid response grants in the region to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
Santana, considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time, will be joined by Jane Fonda, Morgan Freeman, Peter Gabriel and numerous other artists for the Thursday, May 28 event.
They’ll join indigenous leaders, scientists and a coalition of NGOs in presentng Artists United for Amazonia: Protecting the Protectors, a livestream event produced by Artists for Amazonia.
The two-hour event will run from 8:00 pm to 10 pm ETE and will be hosted by part-Spanish actress and Game of Thrones co-star Oona Chaplin, who played Talisa Maegyr on the series. The livestream will be available via Facebook and through the event website.
The program will promote the Amazon Emergency Fund, launched last month by a coalition of indigenous organizations, NGOs, and allies to respond to the urgent needs of indigenous peoples of the Amazon threatened by COVID-19.
Funds raised will be used for: immediate prevention and care; food and medical supplies; emergency communications and evacuation; protection and security for indigenous territories; and food sovereignty and community resilience. The Amazon Emergency Fund aims to raise $5 million over the next 60 days for Forest Guardians to protect themselves against the pandemic in all nine Amazonian countries.
The Artists United for Amazonialivestream will feature living-room musical performances, interviews, and calls to action.

Vertical Entertainment has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to Behaving Badly, which stars the 21-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress and former Disney Channel star.
Directed by Tim Garrick, the comedy centers on a guy who’s so smitten that he makes a bet with a mobster’s son.
Nat Wolff stars as the guy trying to land the woman of his dreams (portrayed by Gomez). Along the way he deals with his best friend’s randy mom (Elisabeth Shue), his drug-abusing boss (Dylan McDermott), a perverted principal (Patrick Warburton), a priest with a secret (Jason Lee), a sultry defense attorney (Heather Graham), and a patron saint who dispenses cryptic advice (Mary-Louise Parker).
Cary Elwes and Gary Busey also co-star in the film, which was written Garrick and Scott Russell based on Ric Browde’s book While I’m Dead … Feed The Dog.
Vertical Entertainment plans to release Behaving Badly in U.S. theaters in August.
James Roday’s Psychdays have been extended by two weeks…
Shortly after ordering five additional scripts of its veteran series Psych, USA Network has ordered two additional episodes for the dramedy’s upcoming eighth season.
The total order for what will most likely be Psych‘s final season now stands at 10 episodes.
For one of the extra episodes, USA executives picked among the five extra scripts. For the other, the network is letting the show’s fans choose from three episodic storylines. The episode that gets the most votes will be produced, with the winner announced at the PsychComic-Con panel on July 18, hosted by returning guest star Cary Elwes.
USA originally ordered eight episodes for Season 8 in December, ahead of the show’s delayed seventh season.

TELETHON – In a classic “whodunit?” case with a PSYCH twist, Shawn and Gus investigate a murder that Shawn is convinced was committed by the beloved host of Santa Barbara’s annual Children’s Hospital Telethon. There’s only one problem – the host was seen by hundreds of thousands of people on live television during the exact time the murder occurred elsewhere. Can Shawn steal the show, poke a hole in this rock-solid alibi, and prove the host did it? Or will Shawn fail in front of his biggest audience yet?

The 20-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress, who was just nominated for her first MTV VMA award, has signed on to star in the indie film Parental Guidance Suggested, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Gomez will appear opposite Nat Wolff in the offbeat coming-of-age comedy, while The Secret Life of American Teenager’s Austin Stowell will co-star as the overbearing boyfriend of Gomez’s character. The cast also includes Dylan McDermott and Cary Elwes.
Based on Ric Browde‘s novel While I’m Dead … Feed the Dog, the story centers on 16-year-old Ric Thibault (Wolff) and his crush Nina Pennington (Gomez) as they embark on a rock ‘n’ roll-themed odyssey.
