Sky Ferreira Releases New Single “Don’t Forget”

Sky Ferreira doesn’t want you to forget her…

The 29-year-old part-Brazilian American singer, songwriter, model and actress has released her comeback single, “Don’t Forget.”

Sky FerreiraThe single’s arrival comes after a nearly nine-year wait for the follow-up to Ferreira’s critically acclaimed 2013 debut, Night Time, My Time.

Picking up where previous singles “Everything Is Embarrassing” and “I Blame Myself” left off, Ferreira returns with stadium-ready pop dripping with ’80s-inspired synths and lyrics that prove her bark is just as ferocious — and not to mention, infectious — as her bite (“keep it in mind / nobody here’s a friend of mine”).

Though it remains unclear when Ferreira’s sophomore effort will arrive in the near future, if ever, “Don’t Forget” previews an album with the potential to be as strong as its predecessor.

Demi Lovato is (re)mixing things up for the summer….

The 29-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actor is readying to release a remix of their sultry 2015 hit, “Cool for the Summer.”

The star took to Twitter on Wednesday, March 30, to share the pre-save link for the “Sped Up Remix” of the song.

The release, of course, comes following the summery hit’s resurgence on TikTok, thanks to a hip-swaying dance challenge and a viral mashup with Ginuwine’s “Pony” from user @kuyamagik.

Upon its release, “Cool for the Summer” peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart dated September 19, 2015, and spent a total of 20 weeks on the chart.

Earlier this year, Lovato bid farewell to their pop music and welcomed a new, rock era. Lovato jokingly shared an image to their Instagram grid posing with both middle fingers up,  joined by music executives from Island Records and manager Scooter Braun. Every person in the picture wore all black. “A funeral for my pop music,” Lovato captioned the brooding image.

Lovato then elaborated via their Instagram Story, with one of the label executives saying, “You put out whatever music you want, whenever you want to. Break the rules.”

Demi then shared two snippets of a new rock song in the following clips.

Lovato’s most recent album, Dancing With the Devil…The Art of Starting Over, primarily featured pop lyrics and production.

The album peaked at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Fans were first given a taste of Lovato’s rock-inspired sound in their first two albums, Don’t Forget and Here We Go Again, under Disney’s Hollywood Records.

The 27-year-old half-Mexican America singer/actress has released the official remix of her latest single “I Love Me” featuring Travis Barker.

Complete with a Myspace-themed lyric video, the new version of the song is every former emo kid’s dream as Lovato transforms the single into something that would sound perfectly at home amid the punchy pop-rock of her 2008 debut album, Don’t Forget.

“‘Cause I’m a black belt when I’m beating up on myself/ But I’m an expert at givin’ love to somebody else/ I, me, myself and I, don’t see eye to eye, me, myself and I/ Oh, why do I compare myself to everyone?/ And I always got my finger on the self-destruct/ I wonder when I love me is enough/ I wonder when I love me is enough,” she belts out over crunchy guitars and the iconic Blink-182 drummer’s roiling percussion.

First released back in March following her triumphant performance at the 2020 Grammys,“I Love Me” is set to serve as the lead single for the pop star’s forthcoming seventh studio album, and has thus far peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

Lovato has since collaborated with Sam Smithon the bombastic “I’m Ready” from the non-binary singer’s as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2017’s The Thrill of It All.

Lovato Scores Her Best Sales Week Ever on the Billboard 200 Chart

Demi Lovato may have missed debuting in the No. 1 spot on Billboard 200 chart… But she has plenty of reason to celebrate.

The 20-year-old part-Mexican American singer/actress and returning The X Factor judge has scored her best sales week ever on the albums chart, selling 110,000 copies of her fourth album Demi.

It’s enough to land the former Disney Channel star in the No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Lovato’s fourth album is her fourth straight set to debut in the top four.

Her last album, 2011’s Unbroken, started at No. 4 with 96,000. She previously opened at No. 1 with her sophomore set, Here We Go Again, in 2009 (108,000 in its debut — her previous best sales week). Her first album, 2008’s Don’t Forget, debuted and peaked at No. 2 off an 89,000 launch.

Vampire Weekend notched its second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as Modern Vampires of the City debuts atop the list this week with sales of 134,000 copies.

Country legend George Strait’s latest album debuted at No. 2. Love Is Everything sold 125,000 in its first frame.

Demi Lovato is set to make a splash on next week’s album charts…

The 20-year-old part-Mexican American singer/actress and returning The X Factor judge released her fourth studio effort, Demi, last week, with the album expected to debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Lovato’s album is projected to sell about 110,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, May 19, according to industry sources. Should the numbers hold up, it would be the best sales week of her career.

Lovato’s last album, 2011’s Unbroken, debuted at No. 4 with 96,000. She previously opened at No. 1 with her sophomore set, Here We Go Again, in 2009 (108,000 in its debut). Her first album, 2008’s Don’t Forget, debuted and peaked at No. 2 off an 89,000 launch.

The No. 1 position next week will likely be owned by Vampire Weekend‘s Modern Vampires of the City, with perhaps 130,000 copies sold. The No. 2 stop is expected to go to George Strait’s latest album with sales of 120,000.

The new Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on Wednesday, May 22.
