International Trailer Released for Hayek’s Action Film “Everly”

Salma Hayek is ready to fight mightily everly after…

The first official international trailer for Everly, starring the 48-year-old Mexican actress, has been released.

Hayek says “Yippee-ki-yay” to Japanese mobsters and hired killers in the clip for director Joe Lynch’s ode to Asian cinema and the action classic Die Hard.

Hayek, an Oscar nominee for her performance in Frida, stars as a Yakuza prostitute-turned-informant who must find her inner John McClane and fend off assassins before she can whisk her young daughter away to a new life.

Akie Kotabe and Hiroyuki Watanabe also star in Lynch’s follow-up to Knights of Badassdom. Yale Hannon wrote the script.

Radius-TWC will first debut on iTunes and On Demand on January 23 before it hits theaters on February 27.

Hayek’s “Everly” to Have Its World Premiere at Fantastic Fest

The 48-year-old Mexican actress’ action thriller Everly from Radius-TWC will make its world premiere this month at Fantastic Fest, the genre fest that takes place in Austin, Texas.

Directed by Joe Lynch from a script by Yale Hannon, the film centers on Hayek’s character. She’s described as a down-on-her-luck woman forced to fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss, while trying to save her estranged mother and daughter.

Joining Hayek’s film in Austin will be Blumhouse Productions and MGM/Orion’s horror remake The Town That Dreaded Sundown, Radius-TWC’s horror film It Follows, Picturehouse’s The Guest, and Dimension/Radius’ Daniel Radcliffe starrer Horns.

The annual festival runs September 18-26 out of the Alamo Drafthouse theaters, which this year will simultaneously screen its opening night film, Kevin Smith’s Tusk with Genesis Rodriguez, and the world premiere of anthology The ABCs Of Death 2 in all Drafthouse markets nationwide along with Q&As live-streamed into theaters and online.

Hayek to Lend Her Voice to Seth Rogen’s R-Rated Animated Film “Sausage Party”

Salma Hayek’s next project may be animated, but it might not be family friendly…

The 47-year-old Mexican actress will lend her voice to the raunchy animated tale of a sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence.

The Oscar-nominated actress will play Teresa the Taco in Sausage Party, the R-rated animated film written by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.

Hayek joins a voice cast that includes Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Edward Norton and David Krumholtz.

After falling out of a shopping cart, the hero sausage and his new friends embark on a journey through the supermarket to get back to their aisles before the Fourth of July sale.

Sony Pictures is planning to distribute the film worldwide with a 2015 release date in the plans.

Hayek most recently appeared in Grown Ups 2 and Here Comes The Boom. She next stars in How To Make Love Like An Englishman and Everly.

Only seven weeks in and 2014 is already turning out to be a busy year for Salma Hayek

The 47-year-old Mexican actress, who recently signed on to star in the political thriller The Septembers of Shiraz and will appear in theaters later this year in the action thriller Everly, has lined up yet another project.

Hayek will star opposite John Travolta in A Three Dog Life.

The drama, based on the best-selling memoir by Abigail Thomas, centers on Thomas’ life in the aftermath of her husband’s devastating car accident.

Nick Guthe, who penned the adaptation of the book, will direct the film.

In addition to Everly, Hayek will star in How to Make Love Like an Englishman opposite Pierce Brosnan and Jessica Alba.

She was also recently cast in Matteo Garrone’s next film, The Tale Of Tales.

Hayek and Travolta previously co-starred in 2006′s Lonely Hearts and more recently in Oliver Stone’s 2012 film Savages.

Dimension Films and Radius-TWC Have Acquired Rights to Hayek’s Action Thriller “Everly”

She portrayed in dastardly drug lord in Oliver Stone’s Savages… But now Salma Hayek’s switching sides.

Dimension Films and Radius-TWC have acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the 47-year-old Mexican actress’ intense action thriller Everly.

Directed by Joe Lynch from a script by Yale Hannon, the film centers in Hayek’s character. She’s described as a down-on-her-luck woman forced to fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss, while trying to save her estranged mother and daughter.

Togo Igawa, Masashi Fujimoto and Hiroyuki Watanabe also star in Everly, which is slated for a fourth quarter 2014 release.

“We’ve been on the hunt for a female driven action franchise and we’ve finally found it in Everly,” said Radius co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego. “Salma is utterly transcendent.”

It’s the latest project from the Oscar-nominated actress to make headlines in recent days.

Hayek previously signed on to star opposite Shohreh Aghdashloo in the thriller The Septembers of Shiraz, the film adaptation of a Dalia Sofer novel.

The movie will be shot in Belgrade, Serbia this summer.

Hayek is producing the animated film The Prophet with Participant Media Films and will be reprising her role in Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups 2 this summer.
