Intocable is shining bright like six diamonds…
The beloved Regional Mexican band, hailing from Zapata, Texas, has earned six RIAA Latin Diamond certifications, coming only days after the group received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Intocable has now collected more RIAA Latin Diamond certifications than any other band, and boasts the second-most behind only Bad Bunny, recipient of the Billboard Latin Music Award for top Latin Artist of the 21st Century.
“These certifications represent far more than sales and streams,” reads a statement from Intocable, whose members were on hand to receive their plaques. “They represent decades of loyalty from our fans, who have been with us through every chapter of this journey. We are deeply grateful to the RIAA for this incredible recognition and to every person who has made our music a part of their lives.”
A separate statement on the group’s Instagram account reads: 6 Latin Diamond certifications. One incredible fanbase. Thank you for making history with us.”
Established in 2001, the RIAA Premios de Oro y Platino Latin Program recognizes albums and singles that have more than 50% Spanish language lyrics.
Album sales, single sales, and on-demand audio and/or video streams are calculated at the formula of 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams equals 10 track sales, which equals 1 album sale. Diamond, or Diamante, is certified at 600,000 combined units.
Formed in the early 1990s by Ricky Muñoz, René Martínez, Sergio Serna, Johnny Lee Rosas, Alex Gulmar and Felix Salinas, Intocable blends Tejano, Norteño, pop, rock and cumbia music.
The group has sold an estimated 55 million albums, has 15 No. 1s on Billboard’sTop Regional Mexican Albums chart and 21 No. 1s on Regional Mexican Airplay. They are Grammy, Latin Grammy and Billboard Music Awardwinners.
Muñoz has had cause for extra celebration. He earned his first No. 1 as co-producer on Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay for his work on Grupo Frontera’s “Ojitos Bellos,” which led the chart dated July 18, 2026.
Intocable was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week in the category of recording.
The star is set as Intocable continues its Cultura Tour 2026, which visits 24 cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Tejano legends recently partnered with Primary Wave Music in a deal covering the band’s catalog as well as its name, image and likeness rights.
