Starring Adam Green and Joe Lynch, Holliston is set in Green’s real-life hometown of Holliston, Mass., and follows the daily exploits of Adam and Joe — two aspiring horror filmmakers, dealing with the struggles of post-college life and relationships while trying to make their big break in the business.

Ortiz, who has appeared on Greek, Happy Endings and Robot Chicken, portrays Laura.

Holliston season two premiers on Tuesday, June 4 at 10:00 pm ET on FEARnet.

Pineda Cast in Fox’s “Dads” Comedy Series

Erin Pineda is preparing to experience a little in-law trouble…

The Latina actress has signed on to star as a cast regular on Fox’s six-episode comedy series.

The project – which comed from Ted‘s Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild and Seth MacFarlane – centers on two successful guys in their 30s, Eli (portrayed by Seth Green) and Warner (Tommy Dewey), who have their lives turned upside down when their nightmarish dads (Peter Riegert, Martin Mull) unexpectedly move in with them.

Pineda will play Camilla, Warner’s wife and the mother of his two children.

She most recently appeared in a guest starring role on ABC’s Happy Endings.

Pineda joins Go On star Tonita Castro as the latest Latina to join the Dads cast.

Ortiz’s “Holliston” Returning For Season Two on FEARnet in June

FEARnet has scheduled the second season premiere of its first original scripted entry, Holliston, which stars the 25-year-old Colombian actress.

The horror-comedy series, which was renewed last April, will return for its expanded sophomore season in June, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series, which was created by and starring Adam Green, the series revolves around two aspiring horror filmmakers (portrayed by Green and Joe Lynch) dealing with despairs of life, love and their post-college careers.

Season two will feature 10 episodes — up four from its freshman run.

Holliston demonstrates not only the breadth of FEARnet’s programming, but also the broad reach of the horror culture. We surprised people by opting for a sitcom. Now, we’re going to surprise them with the places Holliston goes, as season two really celebrates the genre with episodes that mock, embrace and twist the types of scary movies we love,” FEARnet president and GM Peter Block said.

Genre guest stars slated to join the series include Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw), Kane Hodder (Hatchet III), Sid Haig (The Lords of Salem), David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), Danielle Harris (Halloween IV and V), Bailee Madison (Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark) and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy).

 

Ortiz, who portrays Laura on the Holliston, has previously appeared in Happy Endings, Bite Me and Greek.

 

The second season of Holliston will premiere on Tuesday, June 4 at 10:00 pm.

Rodriguez Cast in Fox’s “Wild Blue” Drama Pilot

The Puerto Rican actress has been cast as the female lead in Fox’s Navy drama pilot Wild Blue, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project, which has been described as a mix between ERThe West Wing and Top Gun, centers on the men and women working aboard a U.S. aircraft carrier. Equipped with a 500-foot landing strip, a nuclear reactor and 6,000 military personnel on board, the drama takes a closer look at stressful lives of the Navy’s elite.

Rodriguez, who was recently cast in the film Marching Banda, will portray Pilar “Maytag” Robles, an overachiever seemingly born to be a Naval open aviator. She’s described as athletic and graceful but by no means a pushover who is smart, driven and unafraid to fight for what she believes is right and fair.

Rodriguez, who starred opposite the late Jenni Rivera in Filly Brown, has previously appeared in Army Wives, Happy Endings and The Mentalist.

She joins a cast that includes Battle: Los Angeles Will Rotthaar, The Carrie DiariesJosh SalatinAlano Miller and Damages’ Mykelti Williamson.

Cabral to Star in Fox’s “Enlisted” Pilot

The 34-year-old part-Latina actress has landed the female lead role in Fox’s comedy pilot Enlisted.

The television project, written by Kevin Biegel, centers on three distinctly different brothers working together in the U.S. Army. The brothers include Sgt. Pete Waits (portrayed by Geoff Stults) who is stationed at a small military base in Florida after serving in Afghanistan to tackle the toughest battle he’s faced — leading his dysfunctional brothers’ squad.

Cabral, who appeared in the original Devious Maids pilot, will play Jill Perez, a tough as nails sergeant at the army base who is beloved by her soldiers and leads a unit in the Rear Detachment.

She recently appeared in a recurring role on ABC’s Don’t Trust The B— in Apartment 23. Her other credits include The Glades, Happy Endings and Free Agents.

Cabral Cast in ABC Family’s “Continuing Fred” Pilot

The 33-year-old part-Latina actress has signed on to star opposite Mimi Gianopulos in ABC Family’s half-hour comedy pilot Continuing Fred.

The project centers on twentysomething Winifred “Fred” Harris (Gianopulos), a newly graduated slacker with an overbearing family who surprisingly finds purpose when she begins to teach at a local elementary school.

Cabral will portray an East Coast transplant living with her husband’s mom.

Cabral, whose character was cut from the Devious Maids pilot after the show’s pick up by Lifetime, has a recurring role on ABC’s Don’t Trust The B—- in Apartment 23. Her other television credits include The Glades, Happy Endings and Two and a Half Men, as well as roles on the soap operas All My Children, One Life to Live and Guiding Light.

Rodriguez Signs Talent Deal with ABC/ABC Studios…

She’s already earning rave reviews for her starring role in Filly Brown, which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival… And now Gina Rodriguez is preparing for the next chapter of her red-hot career.

Rodriguez, who received an Imagen Award nomination earlier this year for her work in the film Go For It!, has signed a talent holding deal with ABC and ABC Studios to star in a pilot targeted for next season.

She isn’t attached to a specific project yet, but Rodriguez could end up working on Marc Cherry’s Devious Maids, which revolves around four Latina maids in Beverly Hills.

Rodriguez, who has appeared on Army Wives, first gained the attention of network executives last year when she guest starred on ABC’s comedy Happy Endings.

The deal comes just shy of the world premiere of Filly Brown at the Sundance Film Festival this Friday.

The film, which centers on a young hip-hop artist from Los Angeles (Rodriguez) whose budding career comes to a crossroads when she’s offered a crack at stardom by a shady producer, has already been designated a must-see by film buyers.
