The 45-year-old Puerto Rican and Mexican-American actress has been cast as a series regular opposite Kate Beckinsale in Guilty Party, Paramount+’s half-hour dark comedy from Funny or Die.

Alanna Ubach

In addition to Ubach and Beckinsale, the series also stars Geoff Stults, newcomer Jules Latimer, Tiya SircarLaurie Davidson and Andre Hyland.

Written by Rebecca Addelman and to be directed by Trent O’DonnellGuilty Party stars Beckinsale as Beth Baker, a discredited journalist desperate to salvage her career by latching on to the story of a young mother sentenced to life in prison for maiming and murdering her husband — crimes she claims she didn’t commit. In trying to uncover the truth, Beth finds herself in over her head as she contends with Colorado gun smugglers, clickbait culture, the doldrums of marriage and her own tarnished past.

Ubach will portray Tessa. This news anchor was lapped by Beth when they started out as young reporters. Now, Tessa’s a “chief crime correspondent” who is quickly moving upwards with Beth fading in her rearview.

Ubach can currently be heard on Hulu’s Crossing Swords opposite Nicholas Hoult and received rave reviews for her turn as Jeanine Pirro in Bombshell.

Her other credits include Coco, Legally Blonde, Meet the Fockers and Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.

Gomez Cast in CBS’ Comedy Pilot “Cuz-Bros”

Ian Gomez could soon be appearing on The Eye Network…

The 49-year-old half-Puerto Rican actor has been cast in CBS’ multi-camera odd-couple-esque comedy pilot Cuz-Bros.

Ian Gomez

Toplined by Geoff Stults and Parker Young of Fox’s Enlisted, the projectcenters on Nick (Stults), a successful, suave ladies man working as a sportscaster for a local Los Angeles TV station. His perfect life gets turned on its head when his hot-mess-of-a-cousin Barry (Young) needs a place to stay.

Gomez will portray Phil, Nick’s boss at the TV station.

He is being cast as a guest star as he is in second position to Cougar Town, the way Stults and Young are to Enlisted, making Cuz-Bros a rare pilot where most of the primary cast are formally tied to other shows.

Cougar Town‘s fifth season ended its run several weeks ago, but TBS has yet to make a decision on a renewal.

Cuz-Bros was written by David Caspe and Erik Sommers.

Cabral’s New Fox Series “Enlisted” Premieres This Week

Angelique Cabral is reporting for duty this coming week…

Fox will launch the 34-year-old part-Latina actress’ new midseason series Enlisted on January 10.

Angelique Cabral

The heartwarming Army-set sitcom centers on three brothers in a unit of misfits on an Army base in Florida. Along with Cabral, the series stars Geoff Stults (The Finder), Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars), Keith David (Platoon) and Parker Young (Suburgatory).

Cabral portrays Sgt. Jill Perez, the leader of another unit on the base — and the only main female character in a series that’s “all dudes,” as she tells the Monterey Herald.

“It’s like a dream role, because this woman is not the pretty girlfriend, or the pregnant wife,” said Cabral. “She’s a sergeant in the Army. She’s her own boss, she’s tough as nails, she’s got a chip on her shoulder, she’s hardcore. It’s a really fun character for me to play.”

But Sgt. Perez is more than that, according to her Enlisted costars.

”Angelique’s character, Jill, has developed, in a weird way, into the fourth Hill Brother,” Stults tells TV Guide magazine, adding, “Man, she’s not going to like that!”

Cabral agrees with her co-star’s assessment.

“Jill kind of adopts the boys. Much like in my real life, she has FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out – so she’s constantly around their platoon, even though she has her own,” teases Cabral, who wed her longtime love last summer.

Cabral’s previous credits include Don’t Trust The B— in Apartment 23, The Glades, Happy Endings and Free Agents.

Enlisted premieres on Friday, January 10 at 9:30 pm ET.

The Launch of Cabral’s New Series “Enlisted” Moved to January

It looks like Angelique Cabral won’t be enlisting until 2014…

Fox has postponed the premiere of Enlisted, which stars the 34-year-old part-Latina actress, to midseason.

Angelique Cabral

The comedy series was originally slated to premiere on Friday, November 8 following Raising Hope.

Instead, the new comedy series will premiere on Friday, January 10 at 9:30/8:30c.

Until then, the network will air back-to-back original episodes of Raising Hope on Fridays starting on November 8. The network hopes to give the new series the benefit of higher viewing levels in January, bolstered by Fox’s winter sports lineup.

The comedy stars Geoff Stults as a military man who has been in combat for several years, but is forced to join his dysfunctional brothers’ (Chris Lowell and Parker Young) squad at a base in Florida.

Cabral, who wed her longtime love this summer, portrays Jill Perez on the series.

The television project, written by Kevin Biegel, centers on three distinctly different brothers working together in the U.S. Army. The brothers include Sgt. Pete Waits (portrayed by Geoff Stults) who is stationed at a small military base in Florida after serving in Afghanistan to tackle the toughest battle he’s faced — leading his dysfunctional brothers’ squad.

Cabral, who appeared in the original Devious Maids pilot, will play Jill Perez, a tough as nails sergeant at the army base who is beloved by her soldiers and leads a unit in the Rear Detachment.

She recently appeared in a recurring role on ABC’s Don’t Trust The B— in Apartment 23. Her other credits include The Glades, Happy Endings and Free Agents.
