Liza Colón-Zayas to Star in Onyx Collective’s Untitled Real Estate Drama for Hulu

The 52-year-old Puerto Rican Emmy-winning actress has landed a recurring role in the as-yet-untitled real estate drama pilot ordered by the Onyx Collective for Hulu.

Liza Colón-Zayas,Colon-Zayas, the first Latina to win the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Tina Marrero in the comedy-drama series The Bear, is among a roster of new cast additions that includes William Fichtner, Alfredo Castro and Jared Paul Abrahamson.

Production begins in Toronto on July 14.

They join the previously announced leads Edgar Ramirez and Jacob Scipio, as well as series regulars Leslie Grace, Mariana di Girolamo, Liz Caribel Sierra and Armando Rivera.

From Roberto Patino and Cassius Corrigan, the drama follows a cutthroat battle to dominate the Manhattan skyline, where two rival real estate developers (Ramirez and Scipio) risk everything — wealth, family and their souls — as their ambition turns into obsession, and their partnership turns into war.

Colón-Zayas will play Rosie, as the beloved and socially minded head of a community board in her Lower East Side city district. Rosie finds herself at the center of an explosive real estate development project that inspires as much rage as it does admiration and threatens to destroy the heavily Puerto Rican community she calls home.

Castro will play Jacobo Saladín, the imposing patriarch of the Saladín corporation. Jacobo is a legendary, self-made billionaire and real estate mogul who has built vast communities that house millions of people throughout Latin America, and who suddenly finds his empire at risk of collapse.

Patino, who serves as showrunner, Corrigan, Ramírez and pilot director Alonso Ruizpalacios executive produce alongside Oly Obst and Luke Maxwell of 3 Arts, Ramirez, Liz Tigelaar and Stacey Silverman of Best Day Ever, as well as real estate developer Donahue Peebles III, who will serve as technical consultant.

The first trailer for Lionsgate’s Expend4ables, which will see the 67-year-old Cuban actor joining the cast, has been released.

The fourth title in the Expendables action franchise, which has grossed over $804M worldwide with past installments, Expend4ables reintroduces viewers to Barney Ross (Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Gunner Jensen (Dolph Lundgren) and Toll Road (Randy Couture), the elite mercenaries who together make up the team known as The Expendables.

Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, these four are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. The new film will see them engage with new team members with styles and tactics of their own that will give the expression “new blood” a whole new meaning.

In addition Garcia, others joining the franchise’s core four in the film are Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio and Levy Tran.

The film is slated for release on September 22nd.

Paola Nuñez to Star in Sony Pictures’ “Bad Boys for Life”

The new installment centers on the Miami PDand its elite AMMO team’s attempt to take down Armando Armas (Jacob Scipio), head of a drug cartel. Armando is a cold-blooded killer with a vicious, taunting nature.

Nuñez will take on the role of Rite, the tough and funny criminal psychologist who is the newly appointed head of AMMO and Mike’s former girlfriend- and the one who got away.

Adil El Arbiand Bilall Fallahare directing the film, which will bow in theaters on January 17, 2020.

It was previously announced that Alexander LudwigVanessa Hudgens, and Charles Melton have also joined the film in supporting roles as members of a modern, highly specialized police unit.

Peter CraigJoe Carnahan, and Chris Bremmercrafted the script. Jerry Bruckheimerwill produce the film.

Production is to commence next month.

Nuñez, who is widely known for her performances across Latin American television, features and theatrical platforms, recently starred opposite Pierce Brosnanon the first season AMC western series, The Son, which will return for a second season in 2019.
