La La Anthony Among Stars Taking Part in This Year’s Met Gala Red Carpet Livestream

La La Anthony is hitting the Met Gala red carpet for a special reason…

The 43-year-old Puerto Rican actress and producer will join Teyana Taylor and Ego Nwodim on the 2025 Met Gala red carpet livestream on May 5.

La La AnthonyThe three women will be joined by podcaster/influencer Emma Chamberlain, who is marking her return as Vogue‘s special correspondent, interviewing some of the biggest stars walking the carpet at the year’s premiere celebrity fashion event.

The stream, which will kick off at 6 pm ET, will be hosted exclusively by Vogue and broadcast across all its digital platform, as well as its YouTube page.

This year’s theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with co-chairs A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton and host Anna Wintour announcing in February that the accompanying guideline for how guests should arrive for the star-studded event will be “Tailored for You.”

NBA legend LeBron James will also serve as this year’s honorary chair.

An accompanying Vogue Instagram post sharing the news, said the menswear-focused guideline is “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.” This year’s gala will accompany the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which seeks to explore “the role of sartorial style in forming Black identities, focusing on the emergence, significance and proliferation of the Black dandy”; the exhibit will be on view at the Met from May 10 until Oct. 26.

The Met’s 2025 costume institute benefit host committee includes: musicians Usher, Doechii, André 3000, Janelle Monáe and Tyla, as well as gymnast Simone BilesThe Bear star Ayo Edebiri, actress Regina King, the WNBA’s Angel Reese and more.

Jesse & Joy Performance Clip to Be Featured on “MusiCares: Music on a Mission” Special

Fans will be able to view a previously recorded performance clip of the Mexican duo, comprised of brother Jesse Huerta and sister Joy Huerta, will at “MusiCares: Music on a Mission” on Wednesday, March 30.

Jesse & JoyThe virtual event will also feature a performance clip by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, taken from the MusiCares Person of the Year gala on February 10, 2017, where Petty was the honoree. Petty died less than eight months later, one week after the end of the band’s 40th anniversary tour.

Other performances include Brandi CarlileJason Isbell, k.d. lang, Shawn ColvinFantastic Negrito, Gian Marco, Dante Spinetta, Amythyst Kiah, morgxn, Zach Person, Emily Wolfe and Fitz of Fitz and the Tantrums .

According to a statement, the event will celebrate the power of music and also Joni Mitchell as the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year honoree.

Every dollar from ticket purchases will be distributed to those in need in the music community.

The event will include testimonials from members of the music community who have been helped by MusiCares. MusiCares’ partner in the event is Gibson, the Nashville-based instrument brand.

Music on a Mission will air on Mandolin, the concert livestream platform, on March 30 at 5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET.

Music on a Mission was first held in March 2021 to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 17,000 people bought tickets. The event raised more than $2 million.

“We were blown away by the support from the music community, industry professionals and of course music fans,” Laura Segura, executive director of MusiCares, said in a statement. “We’re so thankful that Gibson recognizes the importance of this event to both fans and professional musicians and that they’ve signed on to help us make Music on a Mission a reality again this year.”

Selena Gomez to Host Special “Rare” Album Pre-Release Party

The 27-year-old Mexican American singer/actress is preparing to release her eagerly anticipated third studio album, Rare, later this week.

But she’s celebrating the album with her fans one night before. 

Gomez announced on Sunday night that Selenators can gather around their devices on Thursday night (January 9) for an iHeartRadioalbum release party special. 

“I can’t wait to share this special moment with you only on @livexlive!” she tweeted.

The album, officially due out on Friday (January 10), will get an early preview during the Los Angeles Livestream special honoring the follow-up to Gomez’s 2015 album Revival

In addition to an “intimate look into the details” of the album, special will also feature an exclusive Q&A with KIIS FM‘s JoJo Wright.  

“It’s the most honest music I’ve ever made and I can’t wait for you to hear my heart,” Gomez tweeted last month along with a grainy video featuring snippets of the videos for the singles released from the album so far, including “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look At Her Now,” as well as first listens to the bouncy title track, the slinky “Cut You Off” and “A Sweeter Place,” which features Kid Cudi.

Rivera to Appear at The Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE Gala Event

Naya Rivera will be taking the stage at the Trevor Project’s annual gala fundraiser.

The 26-year-old half-Puerto Rican singer will join her fellow Glee stars Jane Lynch, Darren Criss, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer, as well as American Idol alum Adam Lambert at TrevorLIVE, on December 8 at the Hollywood Palladium.

Hosted by comedienne Kathy Griffin, the event raises funds for The Trevor Project, which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Lynch will be honored by the organization.

Lambert, along with Riley, Smash star Megan Hilty and Glee alum Cheyenne Jackson, will take the stage for special performances.

Others scheduled to make an appearance include Dot-Marie Jones and Harry Shum, Jr., of Glee, Sarah Michelle Gellar of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Crazy Ones; Hannah Simone of New Girl; Andrew Rannells of  Girls; Allison Janney of Mom and Masters of Sex; TV host Ricki Lake and Jennifer Coolidge of American Pie.

The show will be produced by So You Think You Can Dance judge Adam Shankman, whose directing and producing credits include Rock of Ages, Hairspray, Glee and the 2010 Academy Awards.
