HBO Max Releases Trailer for Post-Apocalyptic Series “Station Eleven,” Starring Daniel Zovatto

HBO Max has released the trailer for its new series Station Eleven, starring the 30-year-old Costa Rican American actor.

A pandemic has ravaged the world in Patrick Somerville’s new series, an adaptation of the 2014 book of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel.

Station Eleven is a post-apocalyptic saga spanning multiple timelines, this limited drama series tells the stories of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost.

In addition to Zovatto, the series stars Mackenzie Davis, Himesh Patel, David Wilmot, Matilda Lawler, Philippine Velge, Nabhaan Rizwan and Lori Petty, with Gael Garcìa Bernal and Danielle Deadwyler recurring.

The 10-episode limited series will premieres on HBO Max on December 16.

Zovatto’s previous credits include Revenge, Fear the Walking Dead and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Daniel Zovatto to Star in HBO Max’s Post-Apocalyptic Limited Drama Series “Station Eleven”

The 29-year-old Costa Rican actor has laded a series regular role on HBO Max’s Station Eleven, a 10-episode post-apocalyptic limited drama series based on the international bestseller by Emily St. John Mandel.

Zovatto will star alongside Lori Petty on the series.

Andy McQueen, David Cross, Enrico Colantoni and Julian Obradors (Mayans, M.C.) will recur on the series, which hails from Patrick Somerville and Paramount Television Studios.

Written and executive produced by Somerville, Station Eleven is a post-apocalyptic saga spanning multiple timelines. It tells the stories of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost.

Zovatto will play The Prophet, the enigmatic leader of a mysterious cult of young people. Petty plays The Conductor, the leader of a group of traveling Shakespeare performers.

They join previously announced series regulars Mackenzie Davis, Himesh Patel, David Wilmot, Matilda Lawler, Nabhaan Rizwan and Philippine Velge.

Obradors is Tyler Leander, the precocious son of two movie stars, who learns painful life lessons by watching the adults around him respond to crisis.

Hiro Murai directs and executive produces with Somerville, Scott Steindorff, Scott Delman, Dylan Russell, Nate Matteson, Jeremy Podeswa and Jessica Rhoades.

Zovatto’s previous credits include Revenge, Fear the Walking Dead and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

Varela to Star in the Upcoming “Point Break” Remake

Matias Varela is getting his big Hollywood break

The 33-year-old Spanish actor, who was born and raised in Sweden, has signed on to appear in Alcon Entertainment’s Point Break remake.

The film is an update of the Kathryn Bigelow-helmed 1991 original to center on an ex-extreme sports athlete turned FBI trainee assigned to go undercover to investigate a string of robberies by a band of fellow adrenaline junkies.

The original starred Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves, Lori Petty and Gary Busey.

Varela will portray Grommet, an extreme sports athlete and member of Bodhi’s gang of outlaws.

In his native Sweden, Varela earned a Swedish Oscar nod for his turn in the final Snabba Cash film, Livet Deluxe.

His other credits include starring in several episodes of Showtime‘s The Borgias, as Ferdinand II of Naples.
