Cinemark Picks Up Monica Huarte’s Family Adventure-Comedy “Daddy Daughter Trip”

Rob Schneider’s family adventure-comedy Daddy Daughter Trip, co-starring the 41-year-old Mexican actress, has been picked up by Cinemark following a successful opening with Harkins Theatres.

Monica HuarteThe film, which Schneider produced, directed and stars in, will now be shown in 45 Cinemark locations, having premiered in an exclusive roll-out at fifteen Harkins Theatres locations on September 30.

The film also expanded to additional Harkins Theatres this weekend.

The live-action/animation hybrid tells the story of a 2nd grader (Miranda Scarlett Schneider) who dreams of a fun-filled spring break vacation her family can’t afford. Against the better judgment of her mom (Jackie Sandler) and with only coins in their pockets, her dreamer father (Schneider) decides to take her on a spring break trip anyway. After a series of misfortunate adventures, their vacation is saved when the duo meet a couple of famous travel bloggers (Huarte and Miguel Ángel Muñoz).

John Cleese, Elle King and Gavin Guerrero also star in the film written by Jamie Lissow & Patricia Schneider.

Rob Schneider produced alongside Patricia Schneider, David Tanner and Angie M. Cruz from Mandalini Pictures, with Dusty Desert Trailer’s Todd Graves executive producing, and Joss Monzon and Francisco Herrera creating the animation.

Huarte’s previous credits include Enfermo Amor, 40 y 20 and The Vineyard.

The 39-year-old Mexican actress is starring opposite Rob Schneider in the family adventure live action comedy-animation hybrid Daddy Daughter Trip, which the SNL alum also produced and directed.

Principal production on the film, which was shot in Arizona, has been completed.

In addition to Huarte and Schneider, the film also stars Jackie Sandler, Migel Ángel Muñoz, Monty Python’s John Cleese, Schneider’s daughter Grammy nominated singer songwriter Elle King, as well as Miranda Scarlett Schneider and Gavin Joseph.

Huarte previously appeared opposite Schneider in Real Rob. Her other credits include 40 y 20, El Amor No Puede Esperar and Falco.

 

Muñoz, a 38-year-old Spanish actor and singer, has appeared on Presunto culpable, Sin identidad and Infames.

HBO Latino Acquires TV/SVOD Rights to Adal Ramones’ Spanish Rom-Com “Love Can’t Wait”

Adal Ramones is bringing the Love to HBO Latino

HBO Latino has acquired the U.S. pay television/SVOD rights to the Spanish language rom-com Love Can’t Wait (El Amor No Puede Esperar), starring the 58-year-old Mexican comedian, actor and television personality.

The film will be available on HBO beginning in January 2021 after the deal between the premium network and FilmSharks.

Ramones stars with 38-year-old Mexican actress Monica Huarte in the film by Juan Carlos Carrasco about two people who bond while locked in a video store. 

The film, which was released in Mexico at the end of last year, was shot after two weeks of rehearsals in a single tracking shot.

Ramones, who was the host of the popular Mexican television show Otro Rollo, previously starred in Maikol Yordan de viaje perdido and Martin al Amanecer.

Huarte’s previous credits include Un Mundo RaroWithout Rhyme or Reason and Busco novio para mi mujer.
