Netflix Renews Noah Centineo’s “The Recruit” for Second Season

Noah Centineo has been recruited for a longer spell…

The 26-year-old part-Puerto Rican actor’s series The Recruit will return for a second season.

Noah CentineoNetflix announced the news late this week that it has renewed the popular series from Entertainment OneAlexi Hawley and Hypnotic.

Season 2 will pick up from last season’s cliffhanger ending that found Owen (Centineo) and Max (Laura Haddock) captured and their lives endangered.

“I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit,” series creator, showrunner and executive producer Hawley told Tudum.com. “Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world and Noah’s turn as Owen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to ‘“’11’”’ in Season Two.”

The Recruit debuted on December 16 and spent five weeks on the Netflix TV Global Top 10 (English), reaching the Top 10 in 88 countries.

Centineo will return as executive producer and reprise his role as Owen Hendricks. As told to Tudum.com: “I know I speak for our entire cast and executive team at eOne and Netflix when I say that we are thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season. I’m looking forward to seeing what Alexi Hawley has in store for us all.”

Season 1 centered around Owen Hendricks (Centineo), a young CIA lawyer whose first week on the job turns upside down when he discovers a threatening letter by former asset Max Meladze (Laura Haddock), who plans to expose the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime. Owen quickly becomes entangled in a dangerous and often absurd world of power politics and mischievous players, as he travels the world in hopes of completing his assignment and making a mark at the CIA.

Fivel Stewart, Vondie Curtis Hall, Kristian Bruun, Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn and Daniel Quincy Annoh also starred in Season 1.

Noah Centineo Launches New Company Arkhum Productions

Noah Centineo is expanding his work behind the camera…

Following an active year that included starring roles in Black Adam and the Netflix series The Recruit, the 26-year-old part-Puerto Rican actor has launched his new company Arkhum Productions.

Noah CentineoArkhum will develop and produce material internally and with outside filmmakers and talent.

The company’s focus will be on comedy and drama projects with an emphasis on social commentary.

Centineo has also named producer Enzo Marc as Head of Production to oversee its current development projects and expand the company’s slate.

Previously, Marc was founder and executive producer of Roble Ridge Productions for five years, producing award-winning commercials, music videos and short films.

“Enzo and I share a taste and passion for filmmaking. We’ve spent years discussing films, personal projects, and our future ambitions. It’s only a natural next step to team up in this way through Arkhum,” Centineo said.

Centineo and Marc have The Greatest Disaster in Cinema History as the first film to be developed under the company banner.

The film, in which Centineo is set to star, follows a young, idealistic director who is in for a rude awakening after arriving in Los Angeles to pitch their first film, but when an actor hijacks their trip, they’re taken on a wild, all-in-one-night journey through the insane world of modern Hollywood.

Chris Hazzard and Mike Fontana are penning the script, with production set to start this fall.

Sony to Release Luis Gerardo Méndez’s “Charlie’s Angels” in China on November 15

Luis Gerardo Méndez will be appearing in Chinese theaters…

Sony‘s reboot of Charlie’s Angels starring Kristen StewartNaomi Scott, and Ella Balinska, with the 37-year-old Mexican actor appearing in a supporting role, has landed a China release date of November 15, which is timed exactly with the film’s domestic release.

Luis Gerardo Méndez

No other Hollywood titles are opening in the PRC on that date. Charlie’s Angels will face local titles Beautiful TeacherHunt DownMarnie’s Welt and Somewhere Winter.

While the film was originally scheduled to go during the first weekend in November, which is where the first 2000 movie bowed, Terminator: Dark Fatelbowed its way on to that date.

Sony moved Charlie’s Angels to November 15 domestic release date for various reasons: better access to premium screens, aiming to stoke Stewart’s Twilight fanbase (that film also launched in mid-November), plusa China release date.

And this $48M production is going to need China with its global start after landing on domestic tracking last week with a $16M projection to Fox/Disney’s Ford v. Ferrari‘s $23M-$30M forecasted opening. The second movie from Sony Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle made just over $2M in a nascent China exhibition market before the Avatar 3D/Imax boom in the PRC. Ford v. Ferrari will play most of the IMAXglobal network on the Nov. 15-17 weekend, but Charlie’s Angels will be booked on select IMAX domestic screens and in some offshore markets.

Mendez portrays The Saint in the film, which also features Noah Centineo as Langston.
