The 32-year-old part-Mexican American actor and breakout star of Amazon’s hit rom-com Red, White & Royal Blue, has signed with Paradigm for representation.

Taylor Zakhar PerezIn the film from director Matthew Lopez, which adapts the New York Times bestselling novel from Casey McQuiston, Perez plays Alex Claremont-Diaz, son of the American President (Uma Thurman), whose feud with a British prince (Nicholas Galitzine) threatens to drive a wedge in U.S./British relations. Subsequently, the pair are forced into a staged truce that sparks something deeper.

Produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter, the film premiered in August 2023 and became the No. 1 movie globally on Prime Video in its premiere weekend, remaining the platform’s most-watched film worldwide for the first three weeks after its release.

Touted by Amazon as spurring “a huge surge in new Prime membership signups,” the film is also now among Prime Video’s top three most-watched romantic comedies of all time.

Previously, Perez caught attention when he joined Netflix’s hugely popular YA film series The Kissing Booth, based on the novels by Beth Reekles, for its second and third installments. Additionally, he was featured in the first season of Max’s critically acclaimed series Minx, opposite Ophelia Lovibond, as well as Buzzfeed Studios’ 1UP, available on Prime Video.

Starz Releases Trailer for Season Two of Oscar Montoya’s Raunchy Workplace Comedy “Minx”

Starz has released the official trailer for its raunchy workplace comedy Minx, starring the Latin actor, comedian and hip hop dancer,

Oscar MontoyaSeason 2 is set to premiere on July 21 on Starz.

Jake Johnson and Ophelia Lovibond are back in the saddle-stitching in the trailer for the new season.

“Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Minx centers around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women. In Season 2, Doug, Joyce and the entire Bottom Dollar crew grapple with Minx’s explosive success, which takes them all to thrilling new places and brings more money, fame and temptation than anyone knows how to handle,” said the synopsis.

The show returns with stars Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Oscar Montoya and Elizabeth Perkins. “Minx” premiered on HBO Max and was renewed for a second season on the streamer, but was picked up by Starz in 2023 after HBO canceled the show.

“Minx” was created by Ellen Rapoport, who serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Paul Feig, Dan Magnante, Ben Karlin and Rachel Lee Goldenberg.

The Colombian actor has been cast as a series regular opposite Ophelia Lovibond in HBO Max’s comedy pilot Minx

The pilot hails from writer Ellen Rapoport, Paul Feig’s Feigco Entertainment and Lionsgate Television.

Written by Rapoport and directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, the half-hour Minx is set in 1970s Los Angeles and centers on Joyce (Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who dreams of producing a magazine by, for and about women and joins forces with a low-rent publisher to create the first erotic magazine for women.

Montoya will portray Richie, the magazine’s recently out-of-the-closet photographer.

Montoya’s previous credits include Bless the Harts, Tales from the Closet and CollegeHumor Originals.
