Plaza will appear opposite Gabriel Bateman and Brian Tyree Henry in the film.

Bateman will take on the role as Andy, Plaza will play Andy’s mom Karen, and Henry is Mike. Those characters originated in the 1988 version, which went on to gross $44 million worldwide, spawned six sequels, and created one of the most well-known characters in the horror genre.

Polaroid helmer Lars Klevberg is set to direct the film, which will mark Klevberg’s second feature.

The plot, based on the original, follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

Filming is currently underway in Vancouver.

Selena Gomez Releases Music Video for Latest Single “Back to You”

Selena Gomez is coming back to you

The 25-year-old Mexican-American singer/actress has released the music video for the latest single “Back to You” from the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack.

Selena Gomez

In the clip, Gomez reenacts a sprightly grand theft auto with her dream beau. Following the premiere of the second season of the Netflix Original series, Gomez — the executive producer – channels Charlie Chaplin to execute the retro neon-colored clip.

The “Hands to Myself” singer stands in the corner of a party, wearing a green and purple sequined dress with a guy that can’t quite ruffle her feathered sleeves. Another blonde cutie catches her eye when she asks him privately “Do you want to steal a car?” He agrees, and they sneak away in a romantic getaway style, only to be ruined when he notices, “You know, you sort of look like Selena Gomez.”

Gomez acts out a flurry of emotions – happy, bored, anger, drama and surprised – and scrunches her face in a lineup of emoji reenactments she has teased on her Instagram account. The couple documents their runaway with a vintage Polaroid camera and camcorder. The video switches to filming Gomez on the retro recorder for takes of her running through an open field.

The yellow and orange undertones make Gomez pop, but the red convertible she and her beau steal catches ablaze when she lights it on fire to cover up their tracks. “If I could do it all again, I know I’d go back to you,” she sings on the chorus, while sneaking back into the party, inhabiting the same corner, and asking the same guy to do it all again.

Michael to Display His Work in a Special Exhibit at the Polaroid Museum

Instagram may be all the rage… But Lucas Michael is making sure a pop culture classic isn’t forgotten…

The Argentine photographer is helping Florida-based retailer Polaroid Fotobar celebrate the opening of its flagship store inside Las Vegas’ The LINQ  this spring with four new exhibits at the Polaroid Museum, focused on Hollywood’s most celebrated stars.

The exhibits will feature shots by Michael, as well as fellow photographers Maurizio GalimbertiMarc Serota and Maripol.

Michael’s photos from last year’s Golden Globes will be on display, featuring candid shots of Jennifer Lawrence, Adele, Bryan Cranston, Ben Affleck, Daniel Day-Lewis and the cast of Girls.

Galimberti, who has worked with Polaroid cameras since 1983, will showcase his portraits of Kate Winslet, Benicio Del Toro and Javier Bardem.

Serota utilized a multi-step image-transfer process to create his large collection of Polaroid portrait prints (“pictorial biographies”), which include shots of Paul McCartney, Roger Daltrey, Kenny Rogers and Gloria Estefan.

Maripol’s 75-shot exhibit will include images of a young Madonna dancing the night away, Debbie Harry in a red sailor suit, and Andy Warhol walking the streets of New York.

The works of the four artists will also join other exhibits, including Warhol’s “Capturing Celebrity,” Tim Mantoani’s “Behind Photographs,” and the world-famous 20×24 Polaroid camera at the Polaroid Museum. The museum will also feature a history on Polaroid founder Edwin Land, as well as an extensive collection of rare artifacts, art and advertising from the Polaroid Historical Collection at MIT.

The exhibits will debut at the Polaroid Museum on April 17, with Polaroid Fotobar’s flagship store opening March 31.
