Gerard Cordero to Star in the Series “Demonico”

Gerard Cordero is preparing for his next project…

The Latino actor will star in Demonico, a scripted series from Donnell Henry.

Gerard CorderoCordero, who has appeared on Ray Donovan, will star opposite Marc John JefferiesDorien Wilson, Franky G and Javon Johnson in the series.

Omar Gooding is also in talks for a role in the project, which is in development at Seal of the Gods Films.

Demonico is set in the high-stakes world of hitmen and follows Nicholas Demonico, a hitman is double crossed and left for dead by his employers who comes back to wreak vengeance on them, with the help of his 12-year-old daughter.

Jefferies and Cordero are set for lead roles, with Wilson playing a kingpin and should Gooding sign on, he’ll play an FBI agent.

Demonico marks a first television project for Seal of the Gods founder Henry. Breece Wilson is the executive producer.

Sarah Shahi Signs with William Morris Endeavor (WME)

It’s a new endeavor for Sarah Shahi.

The 42-year-old part-Spanish actress and Sex/Life star  has signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for representation.

Shahi portrays Billie Connelly in the provocative Netflix drama series which is heading into its second season.

Inspired by BB Easton’s self-published memoir 44 Chapters About 4 MenSex/Life is the story of a love triangle between a woman, Billie Connelly (Shahi), her husband, and her past, which takes a deliciously steamy new look at female identity and desire.

The series quickly became one of Netflix’s best performing shows and drew more than 67 million viewers in its first season.

Shahi received critical praise for her portrayal of DA’s office investigator Rachel Behnam in Showtime’s City on a Hill. She also starred in an episode of the Netflix Dolly Parton anthology series Heartstrings, in which each episode is based on a Dolly song.

She also starred alongside Nathan Fillion on NBC’s The Rookie, and in the Steven Spielberg-produced NBC series Reverie

She also is known for her roles on CBS’ Person of Interest, USA’s Fairly Legal and Showtime’s The L Word.  Her other television credits include Chicago Fire, Life with Damian Lewis, The Sopranos, Ray Donovan and Alias.

Shahi next stars in the anticipated Warner Bros./DC superhero feature Black Adam alongside Dwayne Johnson, set for release in October. She also has signed on to star in the upcoming Amazon film Red, White and Royal Blue, based on the best-selling book, and she is attached to executive produce and star in The Hollys, written by Floriana Lima, Yolanda Pecoraro, and Ilaria Urbinati, with Di Novi Pictures producing.

The Latinx, non-binary and gender-fluid actor has signed with Paradigm.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ortiz’s first breakthrough role was in Amazon Prime Video’s Transparent. They then appeared in recurring roles for Freeform’s The Fosters and Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, and Netflix’s Lucifer. They appeared in Starz’s Vida, where their drag king alter ego Vico Suave made their screen debut.

Currently Ortiz is a series regular on Our Flag Means Death, appearing opposite stars Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby. They play Jim, the first non-binary pirate to exist in a period piece. Their additional credits include S.O.Z: Soldados o. Zombies, American Horror Story: 1984Criminal Minds9-1-1Ray Donovan and Jane The Virgin.

Beyond television, they were a co-lead in The Syed Family Xmas Eve Game Night, which premiered at TIFF in 2021. Ortiz also received a 2021 Queerties Award nomination for their performance in the buzzed about queer digital series, These Thems.

Diany Rodriguez to Appear on Season Nine of NBC’s “The Blacklist”

The Latina actress has joined the cast of NBC’s long-running drama The Blacklist for its upcoming ninth season of the series.

Rodriguez, who has appeared on Law & Order: Organized Crime, will appear in a heavily recurring role.

Rodriguez will play Weecha Xiu. With a tough physical presence and a hardened demeanor, Weecha is more than capable of defending herself against anyone who might threaten her or her associates.

The Blacklist,
 starring James Spader, Diego Klattenhoff and Amir Arison, will jump forward two years in its season 9 return airing on October 21 (8/7c) on NBC.

In The Blacklist, in the two years following the death of Elizabeth Keen, Raymond Reddington (Spader) and the members of the FBI Task Force have disbanded – their lives now changed in unexpected ways and with Reddington’s whereabouts unknown. Ismael Cruz Córdova to Star in the Period Drama “Mary, Queen of Scots”

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican actor has joined the cast of Working Title and Focus Features’ period drama Mary, Queen of Scots.

Josie Rourke is directing the film from a script by Beau Willimon, with Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie starring.

The story explores the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart (Ronan), Queen of France at 16 and widow at 18 who defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne, but Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth I.

Cordova will play the role of Rizzio, Mary’s confidant.

Production is underway in England and Scotland.

Cordova recently had a standout performance as the troubled boxer Hector Campos on Season 4 of Showtime’s Ray Donovan. He recently wrapped his role as the male lead opposite Gina Rodriguez in the Catherine Hardwicke-helmed remake Miss Bala and also appeared in Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

Shahi to Star in the Crime Thriller “Hangman”

The 36-year-old half-Spanish actress has joined the cast of Johnny Martin’s crime thriller Hangman.

Shahi will star alongside Al Pacino, Karl Urban and Brittany Snow.

The film follows a homicide detective (Pacino) who teams up with a criminal profiler (Urban) to catch a serial killer whose crimes are inspired by the children’s game Hangman.

Shahi will play police Captain Lisa Watson.

Shahi’s credits include Fairly Legal, Person of Interest, Ray Donovan and The Sopranos

Cruz Cordova Cast in Showtime’s Comedy Pilot “SMILF”

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican actor has joined the cast of Showtime’s comedy pilot SMILF.

Frankie Shaw will write, direct and star in the project, which is based on her film, which won the Short Film Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival last year.

Set in Boston, SMILF takes a raw look at a single twentysomething (Shaw) whose desires for relationships, sex and a career collide with the realities of being a young single mother.

Cruz Cordova is set to portray Rafi, a 28 year old man-child and recovering addict who is trying to navigate the new world of being a good ex-boyfriend to Brigette (Shaw) and baby daddy to his 2-year old son Larry.

Cordova plays boxer Hector Campos on the current fourth season of Showtime’s Ray Donovan and has a role in Hulu’s drama pilot Citizen.

He next appears in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk for director Ang Lee.

The SMILF pilot will be produced by ABC Signature as a co-production with Showtime.

Cordova will play Chris Martinez, a fiercely ambitious cellular phone salesman methodically putting together an illicit drug empire with Mrs. Candy.

Cordova has recurred on Ray Donovan and The Good Wife.

Diaz to Star on the Second Season of CBS’ Drama Series “Zoo”

The Colombian and Mexican American actress has been cast as a series regular on the second season of CBS’ summer drama series Zoo.

Based on the No. 1 bestseller by James Patterson, the series from CBS Television Studios, is a global thriller about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the planet.

Diaz will portray Dariela, part of a military unit that encounters a strange and troubling new development in the animal mutation.

Diaz has had recurring roles on Ray Donovan, The Vampire Diaries and The Nine Lives of Chloe King, and she played Gloria on Army Wives.
