Demi Lovato to Release “REVAMPED” Album Featuring Rockified Versions of Biggest Hits

Demi Lovato is (rev)amping up her rock efforts…

On the heels of releasing a rockified version of her 2017 hit “Sorry Not Sorry” featuring Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash on Friday, July 14, the 30-year-old half-Mexican American singer has revealed plans to release an entire album featuring amped-up versions of some of her biggest hits.

Demi LovatoREVAMPED is slated for release on September 15 and will feature the reimagined guitar-heavy versions of “Sorry Not Sorry,” as well as the previously released “Heart Attack (Rock Version)” and “Cool For the Summer (Rock Version).”

The news was accompanied by a grungy 40-second video cued to the new “Sorry Not Sorry (Rock Version),” as well as the near-metal “Cool For the Summer” revamp and the relentless version of “Heart Attack.”

In a message accompanying the teaser, Lovato wrote, “Breathing new life into the songs that played such a huge role in my career has allowed me to feel so much closer to my music than ever before. I can’t wait for you to hear REVAMPED.” At press time Lovato had not revealed the full track listing for the 10-song album, which a release promised would feature all new vocals and production on tracks that find Demi reimagining her “career-defining songs with a fresh perspective that reflects her current artistic vision.”

She also weighed in on teaming up with legendary GNR guitarists Slash on “Sorry Not Sorry,” which was originally released six years ago as the lead single from Demi’s sixth studio album, Tell Me You Love Me. “Slash is an iconic artist who I’ve been a fan of for years, it’s an absolute honor to have such a legend like him on the rock version of ‘Sorry not Sorry,’” she said in a statement.

“With REVAMPED, I wanted to pay homage to the songs that resonated the most with fans and played a big role in my career by breathing an exciting new life into them. Creating this project has been incredibly fun and allowed me to express my passion for rock music in a new way, and I feel so much closer to my older music because of it. I can’t wait for everyone to hear more!”

Lovato began performing the rocked-up versions of her songs featured on REVAMPED on her 2022 tour in support of the HOLY FVCK album. That collection marked a return to Demi’s rock and pop-punk beginnings thanks to assists from Yungblud, Royal & the Serpent and Dead Sara; the tour also featured an all-female band led by acclaimed rock guitarist Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper).

Demi Lovato is preparing to rockify one of her beloved hits…

The 30-year-old half-Mexican singer/actress is set to release their power-fueled pop hit “Heart Attack” with a fresh update.

Demi LovatoTen years after its initial released, Lovato will release a rock version of the track this Friday, March 24. 

Lovato announced the new via Instagram on Monday.

“Heart Attack, but make it Rock,” they captioned the post, which features a short, guitar-centered snippet of the new track.

Upon its original release in early 2013, the song peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart dated April 27, 2013.

The Grammy-nominated Disney alum’s latest record marked a stark shift in image and sound from their revelatory 2021 album — Dancing With the Devil… The Art of Starting Over.

Led by the singles “Skin of My Teeth,” “Substance” and “29,” 2022’s Holy Fvck took on a more rock, edgy sound. Holy Fvck features collaborations with Royal & the Serpent, YUNGBLUD and Dead Sara, as well as writing and production credits from Warren “Oak” Felder, Michael Pollack, and Lovato themselves.

In early 2022, Lovato hosted a “funeral” for their pop music days, sharing an image to their Instagram page posing with both middle fingers up, joined by music executives from Island Records and manager Scooter Braun. Every person in the picture wore all black. “A funeral for my pop music,” Lovato captioned the image.

The 30-year-old half-Mexican American actress/singer has offered her followers on TikTok a sneak peek of “Still Alive,” her new single for the Scream VI soundtrack.

Demi LovatoTo tease the song, Lovato appears with her back to the camera, slowly circling to reveal that she’s holding the famous Ghostface mask in front of her face.

As she lowers the shroud, Lovato’s voice can be heard singing, “Alive, I don’t want to just survive/ Give me something to sink my teeth in” before the song abruptly cuts out.

Naturally, Lovatics were clamoring to hear the entire track, which will be released on March 3.

“Demi Lovato is coming for blood,” one fan predicted in the comments, punctuating the sentiment with a single drop of blood emoji. Another wrote, “I’m so here for this era…keep slayinggggg,” while a third amusingly commented, “I work in a cinema and when I tell you this better be the end credit song so I can hear it 5 times a day when I’m cleaning I swear.”

“Still Alive” will serve as Lovato’s first taste of new music since releasing her seventh studio album, Holy Fvck, back in 2022.

The pop-punk fueled full-length contained collaborations with Yungblud, Royal & the Serpent and Dead Sara and ultimately topped three separate Billboard tallies: Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums.

Demi Lovato Releases New Single “Substance”

Demi Lovato is embracing the substance…

The 29-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress has released their new song “Substance,” as well as the music video for the track.

Demi LovatoIt’s the second single off Lovato’s eighth studio album, Holy Fvck. The single was released on Friday (July 15) alongside with the video that feels just as angry as the song sounds — perfectly paving the way for Lovato’s fresh new era as a bona fide punk rocker. 

As she wails over full-throttle drums and guitars lifted straight from late ’90s/early 2000s emo rock hits, the video finds Lovato smashing a glass gold record plaque with a baseball bat, falling purposefully out the window of a skyscraper conference room and spray painting “Holy Fvck” onto a wall.

“So I ask myself: Am I the only one looking for substance?” they sing. “Got high, it only left me lonely and loveless/ Don’t wanna end up in a casket/ head full of maggots, body full of jack s–t/ I get an abundance/ Am I the only one looking for substance?”

The new single arrives just one day after the Grammy nominee unveiled the full tracklist for Holy Fvck.

In addition to “Substance” and lead single “Skin of My Teeth,” which Lovato released in June, the August 19-slated album includes 14 other tracks featuring collaborations with YungBlud, Royal & The Serpent, and Dead Sara.

Lovato has been in the process of launching an edgy new musical style since January, when she held a metaphorical funeral for the seven albums worth of pop music the “Cool For The Summer” singer made leading up to Holy Fvck. They’ve been steadily teasing bits and pieces of songs on the upcoming album on social media, and recently said in a statement: “Never have I been more sure of myself and my music, and this record speaks that for itself.”

“To my Lovatics who have been rocking out with me since the beginning and those who are just now coming along for the ride, thank you,” they continued. “This record is for you.”
