David Castañeda to Star in “What the F*ck Is My Password?!”

The 35-year-old Mexican American actor will star in What the F*ck Is My Password?! as production on the film kicks off in New Jersey.

David CastañedaCastañeda will star opposite Kal Penn, Adam Pally and Chris Redd in the film.

Other cast members include Scott Adsit and Edy Modica in the Steve Pink-helmed film, which is written by Jeff Morris, from a story by Pink and himself.

Last month, Deadline exclusively announced Alexander Ludwig, Poppy Liu, Ricky Staffieri, Stephen Dorff, Kate Walsh and Sarah Grey were cast in the ensemble comedy.

What the F*ck Is My Password?! is about a guy who learns he invested in bitcoin while drunk on graduation night more than 13 years ago—and is now worth more than 200 million dollars. A new future and wealth beyond his wildest dreams await him—if he can just remember his goddam8-19n password. After his first attempt fails, he’s horrified to discover he only has four tries and seven days to figure out what it is, or he loses the money forever.

The film is produced by Christopher Irion, Rob Hammersley and Sonya Novak of Public House Pictures, alongside Pink and Morris.

Also producing are Molly Conners and Amanda Bowers of Phiphen Pictures. David Gendron, Ali Jazayeri and Viviana Zarragoitia of Three Point Capital are serving as executive producers.

Castañeda is best known for his role on Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy.

The 36-year-old Golden Globe-winning Puerto Rican actress and former Jane the Virgin star is set to star in Amazon Studios’ comedy adventure Lost and Found.

Rodriguez will star opposite Zachary Levi, with Steve Pink set to direct. Pink and Jeff Morris wrote the script, about a headstrong lawyer and an off-the-grid renegade who reluctantly team up to find a long-lost buried treasure by the Mississippi River.

Levi is producing through his Wyldwood Studios along with Rodriguez and Molly Breeskin under their banner I Can and I Will Productions, and Pink through his Pink Machine banner.

Rodriguez most recently starred in Kajillionaire for Focus Features, the Netflix rom-com Someone Great and Scoob! 

Her past past films include Deepwater Horizon, Ferdinand, Annihilation and the Miss Bala remake.

She voices the title character in the Netflix animated action-adventure series Carmen San Diego and is producer of the Disney+ series Diary of a Future President.

The Latino semi-pro-soccer-player-turned-actor has landed a series regular role in NBC’s 13-episode single-camera comedy series Telenovela.

Starring and executive produced by Eva Longoria, the series is based on an idea by Longoria.

Directed by Steve Pink, Telenovela stars Longoria as popular diva Ana Maria, star of Latin America’s most beloved telenovela who strives to stay on top in a world where the drama on-camera is nothing compared to the drama off-camera.

Moreno Brooks will portray Gael Garnica, a masculine soap star who happens to be gay, married and not in the closet. He’s one of Ana’s best friends.

Longoria and Ben Spector executive produce for Universal Television. The project is written/executive produced by Chrissy Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein.

Disney has closed a deal for an untitled pitch that’s being hailed as a reimagining of the legendary Spanish author’s The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha, which was published in 1605.

The project, to be written by Steve Pink and Jeff Morris, will be produced by Infinitum Nihil’s Christi Dembrowski and Johnny Depp, who was long been intrigued by the character. Depp was even attached to star in a Don Quixote film that Terry Gilliam was trying to make.
