Los Tigres del Norte to Donate Partial Proceeds from Upcoming Hometown Concert to Local Non-Profits

The Mexican supergroup have announced that they’ve teamed up with the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., to donate a portion of the proceeds from the band’s upcoming hometown show on April 1.

Los Tigres del NorteThe donations will benefit local organizations Ayudando Latinos a Soñar (ALAS) and Hijas del Campowho aid area farmworkers in the aftermath of recent floods and the Half Moon Bay shooting.

“It has also been important to us to show our gratitude by giving back to the community,” the norteño ensemble said in a statement. “Farmworkers already face many hardships in daily life and we could not stand by when so many people close to home have had to face these additional horrible events. We also encourage more people to join us once again in supporting this hardworking, but underserved community.”

The legendary norteño band has extended its current La Reunión tour with new dates for 2022.

Los Tigres del Norte, which kicked off a tour in September, is set to continue with 40 confirmed dates in 2022, including February 11 at Ontario’s Toyota Arena, February 19 at San Jose’s SAP Center, March 12 at New York’s UBS, and for the first time in their career, Los Angeles’ Staples Center on April 2.

In addition to going on tour, Los Tigres del Norte—Jorge Hernández, Eduardo Hernández, Luis Hernández and Oscar Lara—will premiere their upcoming EP, named after the tour, on December 3. The set will include six tracks, including the previously released title track.

Known as la voz del pueblo, Los Tigres del Norte have consistently spoken out against issues that directly impact the Latinx community. Through lyrics, documentaries and activism, the norteño band — whose career spans over five decades — has explored topics like immigration, gun violence and, most recently, cash bail reform.

Pepe Aguilar to Launch 15 New “Jaripeo Sin Fronteras” Tour Dates in September

Pepe Aguilar is expanding his North American presence…

After a successful U.S. and Mexico tour in 2018 and 2019, the 52-year-old Mexican-American singer-songwriter and actor will continue his Jaripeo Sin Fronteras tour with 15 new dates in 2021.

Conceptualized by the renowned Regional Mexican star himself, the family-friendly concert will have performances by Pepe, Angela Aguilar, Leonardo Aguilar, Antonio Aguilar Jr., Banda Sinaloense, Mariachi Zacatecano, rodeo acts, horse shows, charreria competition, bull riders, and more.

The 2021 tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on September 4 in Phoenix’s Gila River Arena, and wrap up on December 5 in San Jose’s SAP Center.

The Aguilar dynasty will also make pit stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, to name a few.

Combining traditional equestrianism with the latest technology like video, lasers, lights, and special effects, Pepe describes the tour as “a rock concert but with traditional content.”

“It’s basically a modular concept, where you can change the pieces,” Aguilar previously told Billboard of the family touring tradition. “The fundamental parts are the horse shows and the Mexican traditions.

Tickets for the 2021 Jaripeo Sin Fronteras tour will go on sale at noon local time on Friday, May 7, via Ticketmaster.com.

Lovato Joins Jessie J for Impressive Live “Bang Bang” Rendition

During Jessie J’s performance at 99.7 NOW!’s 2014 Triple Ho Show in San Jose, California this week, she shocked the audience by bringing out the 22-year-old part-Mexican American singer to perform Ariana Grande’s vocals on the hit single “Bang Bang.”

Jessie J started out her performance at the SAP Center solo, but teamed up with Lovato for one epic duet that’s now gone viral.

When it came time for Garnde’s verse, Lovato stepped out onstage. Naturally the crowd went nuts! Dressed in a black crop top and skirt, the always spunky Lovato owned Grande’s portion of “Bang Bang,” with her voice sounding great as she belted out those high notes just like Grande.

After the surprise performance, Lovato tweeted, “That just happened….. Thank you SO much @JessieJ for having me on stage for Bang Bang… It was an honor!”

Jessie J also tweeted a sweet message to Demi: “WOW!!! @ddlovato is a dream to be on stage with!!! Thank you girl!!! You sang yo ass off!!! #bangbang…”
