Alvaro Morte to Star in Amazon’s “The Wheel of Time” Series Adaptation

Alvaro Morte is takin’ the wheel…

The 44-year-old Spanish actor has been cast opposite Rosamund Pike in Amazon’s series adaptation of The Wheel of Time.

Morte has beentapped for multiple episodes of the drama based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy novels.

Produced by Amazon Studiosand Sony Pictures Television,The Wheel of Time is set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it. 

The story follows Moiraine (Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.

Morte will play Logain.

The Wheel of Time was adapted for television by executive producer/showrunner Rafe Judkins. Uta Briesewitz will direct the first two episodes. 

Morte stars in Netflix’s La Casa De Papel(Money Heist).

Aurora Guerrero Joins Roster of Directors for Ava DuVernay’s Romantic Anthology Drama “Cherish the Day”

The Chicana writer-director has been added to the director roster for Ava DuVernay’s forthcoming romantic anthology drama Cherish the Day, joining a roster of new additions that includes Blitz Bazawule and Deborah Kampmeier.

Cherish the Day is blazing the trail when it comes to inclusion as it achieved full gender parity with a production crew of over 50% women, including 18 female department heads.

Chapter one of Cherish the Day chronicles the relationship of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel us to hold true to the ones we love, from the extraordinary to the everyday. The couple meet and fall in love in Los Angeles and the full season will span five years in eight episodes.

Guerrero’s first narrative feature Mosquita y Mari premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and went on to the film festival circuit, where it garnered multiple awards, including Best First Narrative Feature and Best Leading Actress at Outfest, and was nominated for a Cassavetes Spirit Award and a GLAAD Media Award. Geller must race to determine whether he really is a divine entity or a deceptive con artist capable of dismantling the world’s geopolitical order. Adriana Paz Cast in Paramount Network’s “Coyote”

The 39-year-old Mexican actress and dancer has been cast as a series regular opposite Michael Chiklis and Juan Pablo Raba in Coyote, Paramount Network’s one-hour scripted drama series.

Written by David Graziano, Michael Carnes and Josh GilbertCoyote is the story of Ben Clemens (Chiklis), who, after 32 years as a border patrol agent, is forced to work for the very people he spent his career trying to keep out of America. Now exposed to life on the other side of the wall, Ben will start to question his black-and-white views of the world, challenging his ideology and his loyalties.

Paz will play Silvia, the proprietor of the local taqueria. Ferrer will portray Chayo, a member of the Cartel and has a very personal ax to grind. Pisano will play Sultan, member of the Cartel, he is a second generation Mexican American who has fled to Mexico. McWilliams will portray Holly Vincent, the smart, savvy, and streetwise HSI Agent. Cedillo will play Neto, a seasoned, local cop in a small Mexico town.

The project hails from Emmy-winning executive producer and director Michelle MacLarenDark Horse Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. It’s slated to premiere in 2020.

MacLaren will direct the pilot and executive produce the series. Graziano serves as showrunner. Graziano, Carnes and Gilbert are writers and executive producers. 

Paz’s previous credits include her Ariel Award-winning performance in La Tirisia, as well as roles in Rudo y CursiSpectreHilda and El Autor.

Ferrer, a 24-year-old Mexican actor, previously appeared in Sin Nombre, Ramon and600 Millas.

Pisano previously appeared in New York UndercoveriLove and If Loving You is Wrong.

Cedillo, a 49-year-old Mexican American actor, previously appeared in The Three Burials of Melquiades EstradaSicario and Narcos: Mexico.

Ally Brooke Announces First-Ever Solo Tour, “My Time to Shine”

The 26-year-old Mexican American singer and former Fifth Harmony member, who finished in third place on this season of Dancing With the Stars, is going on tour.

Ally Brooke, who recently released her latest single “No Good,” took to Instagramto announce that she’s been “cooking up something,” taking a cake out of the oven in the video to reveal the dates to her first-ever solo tour. 

She’ll be performing at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City on March 16 and the El Rey Theaterin Los Angeles on April 7, with more dates to be announced. 

Tickets for the tour, fittingly titled My Time to Shine, will go on sale Friday, December 6 at 10:00 am.

MGM & Universal Release Ana de Armas’ Character Poster for James Bond Film, “No Time To Die”

MGM and Universal have released a series of character posters for No Time To DIe, the 25th entry in the James Bond franchise, starring the 31-year-old Cuban-Spanish actress.

Unveiled ahead of the film’s official trailer launch, they posters feature a closer look at Ana de Armas’ Paloma, Rami Malek’s villain Safin, Daniel Craig’s Bond, supposedly back for his final entry in the franchise, Léa Seydoux’s Madeleine Swann, Lashana Lynch’s Nomi, Ben Whishaw’s Q.

Cary Joji Fukunagadirects the film, which sees Bond having left active service. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) turns up asking for help with a mysterious villain armed with a dangerous new technology.

The film’s release date in North America is set for April 8 via MGM’s United Artists Releasing banner, with the UK launch plus select territories via Universal Pictures Internationalon April 2.

Fukunaga also wrote the script with Neil PurvisRobert Wade,Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was brought in to give the screenplay a polish with particular attention to the female characters.

The last Bond entry, 2015’s Spectre, grossed $881m worldwide including $200m domestic.

Nicole, the singer behind recent hits like “Wapo Traketero” and “Años Luz,” brings a breath of fresh air to trap music with the addition of some soul and R&B flavor.

The artist, real name Nicole Cucco, was blessed with collaborations from Duki and Cazzu, two of the top artists in the new Argentine movement. Camila Cabello Reveals Track List for New “Romance” Album

The 22-year=old Mexican & Cuban singer has shared the full track list for her sophomore album Romance a week ahead of its release.

Cabello revealed the song titles — 14 in total — in a clip posted on social media.

Romance includes previously heard tracks “Shameless,” “Living Proof” “Easy,” “Liar” and “Cry for Me,” as well as the singer’s chart-topping duet with Shawn Mendes, “Señorita.” 

But that’s not the only collaboration on the album. The song “My Oh My” features rapper DaBaby.

“Welcome to the world of #Romance,” Cabello captioned the teaser.

The album, which she’s describedas sounding “like what falling in love feels like,” will officially be available on December 6.
