Odette Annable to Star in Andrés Beltrán’s Psychological Horror Film “Anima”

The 40-year-old Colombian & Cuban American actress will star in Anima, a psychological horror film written and directed by Colombia’s Andrés Beltrán.

Production is underway now in Bogotá.

Anima follows Helena (Annable), a forensic medical investigator overwhelmed by grief after the death of her husband Richard (Londono). When she becomes obsessed with a disturbing new case, Helena starts to believe she can bring Richard back — unleashing a cascade of terrifying consequences.

Revolori plays Pablo, a key figure tied to the mystery that pulls Helena further into a spiral of obsession and horror. Leguizamo portrays Helena’s daughter, Julia.

“This is a deeply emotional and unsettling story—about grief, denial, and the terrifying cost of refusing to let go,” said Beltrán. “It’s been exciting to bring this vision to life with such a dedicated creative team.”

The project secured partial production and post-production financing from Notorious Productions Film Fund, which focuses on independent films with established talent and strong international distribution potential.

“From the very beginning, Anima stood out as something special,” said producer Cherubini, “genre storytelling that’s grounded in emotional truth. With this cast and Andrés at the helm, we’re building something haunting and memorable.”

Known for roles in The CW’s Supergirl and Matt Reeves’ Cloverfield, Annable has more recently been seen playing bartender Geri Broussard in The CW’s Walker, which ran for four seasons.

On the feature side, Beltrán most recently directed Quicksand, a horror thriller penned by Westworld‘s Matt Pitts, which marked his English-language debut. Prior to that helming the horror film Llanto Maldito (Tarumama) and crime thriller Malos Dias (Bad Days), he’s also worked on international series like Primate, The Marked Heart, Savage Rhythm and MalaYerba.

Carolina Gaitàn is getting her second chance

The 38-year-old Colombian actress and singer will star in the drama thriller series, Second Chance.

Alexis Ren and Tiffany Hines will also star.

Set to debut worldwide later this year, Second Chance is a 10-part series that tells the story of three domestic cleaning workers and their clients as they struggle to overcome their pasts and grapple with the challenge of creating a better future.

Gaitàn plays service worker Marianna in the series, who finds herself navigating “extraordinary and dangerous situations” alongside her two friends Shira (played by Ren) and Jackie (played by Hines).

The series will grapple with topics including diversity, xrights, immigration, women’s equality and organized crime as well as focusing on themes such as perseverance, identity and love, with the three female lead characters drawing on their innate strength as well as each other’s support to get through hard times.

Luke Goss, Hannah Ware, Jake Manley and Jerry Ferrara round out the cast.

USATV Productions are executive producing the series.

Gaitàn, who played Pepa Madrigal in Disney’s smash-hit animated musical, will next be seen in Andres Beltran’s Quicksand and Ileana D. Vasquez’s Perfidious.

Greeicy to Star in the Netflix Series “Ritmo Salvaje”

Greeicy is returning to her acting roots…

The 29-year-old Colombian talent, who was first an actress before becoming a singer, has announced her participation in the upcoming Netflix series Ritmo Salvaje.

GreeicyGreeicy will portray Karina in the series co-directed by Simón Brand, Rafa Martínez and Andrés Beltrán.

The musical drama, which also stars Paulina Dávila, Martina la Peligrosa and Juan Manuel Guilera, among others, narrates the story of two dance groups who battle it out to see who’s the best in the game.

“Returning to this acting discipline was beautiful,” Greeicy expressed on Instagram. “It was a challenge that taught me a lot. It constantly tested me and as always, it left me with amazing memories.”

Ritmo Salvaje airs March 2 on Netflix.
