Tami Roman Lands Recurring Role on Apple’s Thriller Drama Series “Are You Sleeping”

The 48-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress has landed a recurring role opposite Octavia Spencer and Lizzy Caplan in Apple’s thriller drama series Are You Sleeping.

In addition to Roman, other new additions to the cast include Nic Bishop, Annabella Sciorraand Molly Hagan.

From Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and the scripted drama venture of Peter Chernin’s Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content, Are You Sleeping was created and written by Nichelle Tramble Spellman.

It’s based on the true-crime novel by Kathleen Barber, and provides a unique glimpse into America’s obsession with true-crime podcasts and challenges its viewers to consider the consequences when the pursuit of justice is placed on a public stage.

Spencer stars as Poppy Parnell, a relentless investigative reporter who looks to uncover the truth behind a decades-old questionable murder verdict through her new podcast. Caplan plays twin sisters Josie and Lanie, whose father’s murder decades ago is examined on the podcast.

Roman, who first gained fame on The Real World: Los Angeles, portrays Lillian Scoville, Poppy’s saucy stepmother.

Aaron Paul, Elizabeth Perkins, Mekhi Phifer, Michael Beach, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood and Ron Cephas Jones co-star in Are You Sleeping. The premiere episode will be directed by Anna Foerster.

Roman’s credits include Basketball Wives, Bonnet Chronicles and Extant.

OWN has ordered eight additional episodes of freshman docuseries Livin’ Lozada, starring the 40-year-old Puerto Rican reality television star.

The series has been a strong ratings performer for Oprah Winfrey’s cable network.

Livin’ Lozada, which debuted on July 11, was the highest-rated freshman season ever for an OWN docuseries among women 18-49.

In addition, the recent finale of Livin’ Lozada (0.86) on August 29 ranked as one of the top two unscripted season finales in OWN history among women 25-54.

Livin’ Lozada follows the lives of the Basketball Wives star, and her 22-year-old daughter Shanice. The series returns this spring with a new setting. Now that baseball season has ended, Evelyn and her fiancé, LA Dodgers star Carl Crawford, leave the glitz of Hollywood for their offseason home in Arizona.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has ordered a brand new docuseries starring the 39-year-old Puerto Rican reality television star, one of the former cast members of VH1’s Basketball Wives.

Evelyn (working title) follows the lives of Lozada, and her 21-year-old daughter Shaniece. Evelyn is engaged to big league baseball player Carl Crawford and the couple just welcomed their first child, Carl Leo Jr., to the family last March.

Between learning to be a mom all over again, setting up a new home in Los Angeles for her family, running several businesses and dealing with issues surrounding her family back East… Evelyn has a lot on her plate. Not to be outdone, her daughter Shaniece’s modeling career is taking off resulting in a flood of business opportunities with no clear choice of which to pursue, leaning on her mom for advice which she (sometimes) takes. Each episode is filled with close friends and relatives in the ladies’ lives who help round out a world filled with laughter, support, encouragement and tears as we follow Shaniece carving out the new life before her and Evelyn finally feeling like she has the life she deserves.

Evelyn is scheduled to premiere in July.

The 38-year-old Puerto Rican reality television star, one of the stars of VH1’s Basketball Wives. And her fiancé Carl Crawford have welcomed their first child together.

Lozada gave birth to her first son on March 22 at 3:55, later confirming the news via Twitter.

“I have EXCITING NEWS! Thank you God for my blessing,” Lozada tweeted.

Lozada and her fiancé, a Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder, are thrilled with the new addition to their family. The name of the baby hasn’t been revealed.

Lozada and Crawford got engaged in October, one month before they announced they were expecting.

She was previously married to Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson in 2012, but got separated after only month when the football player was arrested for allegedly head-butting her.

The bouncing baby boy is Evelyn’s second child; she had daughter Shaniece Hairston when she was a teenager.

“YES!” Lozada captioned her Instagram photo of her huge diamond ring.

The reality star later told People, “I’m overjoyed and in complete and utter shock! What a different year and a half it has been — I’m truly happy!”

Lozada, who divorced Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson in 2012, initially kept the identity of the baby’s father a secret. She’s now seven months along.

The 37-year-old Puerto Rican reality television star is pregnant with her second child.

Lozada, the star of VH1’s Basketball Wives reality series, confirmed the news to People magazine that she’s already six months along but remained tight-lipped on the father’s identity.

“I am so excited to announce a wonderful blessing – I’m pregnant!” Lozada announced.

The pregnancy is a planned one, even when she was dating and married to NFL player Chad Ochocinco, whom she divorced on September 19, 2012.

“I’m excited about being a mommy all over again. This is something I’ve been wanting for years and I can’t believe it’s finally happening.”

Lozada divorced Ochocinco after only two months of marriage. She accused him of head-butting her during a heated argument.

She has a 20-year-old daughter named Shaniece from a previous relationship. The mother daughter were snapped having a quality time in Hawaii recently with Lozada sporting the baby bump.

“You deserve everything that GOD sends your way. I am so excited to meet my new sibling! #youjustkeepwinning #babyswag #JOY @evelynlozada,” Shaniece tweeted.

Lozada is keeping the identity of the baby daddy a secret for now. According to TMZ, she has been dating the guy for a year now.

Lozada’s cheeky new winter-themed anti-fur ad, shot by celebrity photographer Drexina Nelson, features the reality television star laying on her stomach with her bare legs dangling in the air and covered with faux snow.

“I’m an animal lover,” she says in a new promo spot for the campaign. “I’m definitely one of those people who wore fur years ago. I was looking online and I saw how these animals are tortured…You don’t really realize the hurt and the pain that they go through.”


In the PETA ad, Lozada shows the world that a woman doesn’t need to wear fur to be glamorous or beautiful.

She’s the latest in a long line of celebrities who’d “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur,” including Eva Mendes, Khloe Kardashian, Christy Turlington, Wendy Williams, Joanna Krupa and Bethenny Frankel.

VH1 Greenlights Lozada’s “Basketball Wives” Spinoff

It’s official… After months of speculation, Evelyn Lozada will be getting her own reality series …

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican reality television personality of VH1’s Basketball Wiveswho owns a shoe store in the Miami area and signed a six-figure book and movie deal last year—will star in Ev And Ocho, a new eight-episode series on VH1 that will chronicle Lozada’s upcoming nuptials to NFL star Chad Ochocinco.

In addition to the eight episodes, Ev And Ocho will conclude with a two-part wedding finale.

The series will premiere in September.

Lozada’s Solo Gig?

She’s one of all-stars on VH1’s Basketball WivesBut Evelyn Lozada could soon be leaving the team to become a solo player.

The Puerto-Rican beauty is reportedly in talks to star in her own reality series on VH1, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the deal would require less shooting time from Lozadaa fan favorite on Basketball Wives—so she can spend more time with her college-aged daughter and attend her fiancé Chad Ochocinco’s NFL games.

Lozada, who co-owns the shoe boutique Dulce in Coral Gables, FL, recently signed a six-figure book and movie deal.

According to sources, the spin-off will follow the weeks leading up to the couple’s impending nuptials.  “They’re still debating on where,” says Diann Valentine, the couple’s wedding planner and star of the WE tv show, I Do Over. “We’ve narrowed it down so it will either be somewhere in Florida or on an island. So I’m exploring both. I’m exploring locations in Florida and I’m looking at some islands that are not too far away because, you know, she loves warm weather, she loves the tropics, she loves the beach.”

Lozada’s Next Big Project: Writing

It’s time to add another title to Basketball Wives star and entrepreneur Evelyn Lozada’s resume: author.

The Puerto Rican beauty, the fiancée of NFL star Chad Ochocinco, has signed a six-figure deal with Cash Money Content to develop literary and feature film projects, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lozada’s first writing project is The Wives Association, a series of books to be co-authored by novelist and former Law & Order: Criminal Intent scribe Courtney Parker. The series will be loosely based on the New York native’s life, using the alter ego Eve Inez-Landon to fictionalize the true stories she’s learned from years of experience dating pro athletes.

“The stories that you hear—what goes on in these relationships, and just being in that circle—I decided to let everyone experience a piece of it for themselves by writing this series of juicy novels,” says Lozada, who co-owns Dulce, a shoe boutique in Coral Gables, Florida.

Cash Money Content—the book publishing arm of record label Cash Money Records, founded by brothers Bryan “Baby” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams—hopes to develop film projects based on the books.

“By partnering with Baby and Cash Money Content, we have the potential to turn these ‘novels’ into a full-fledged brand,” explains Lozada. “Everything Baby and CMC touches turns to gold, and our brands together will be magical.”
