Ice Spice Releases Highly Anticipated Debut Album “Y2K!”

Ice Spice has finally released her debut album…

The 24-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper dropped Y2K! on Friday, July 26 via 10K Projects and Capitol Records.

Ice SpiceIce Spice’s 10-song set features previously released singles “Phat Butt,” “Think U the Shit (Fart)” and “Gimmie a Light.”

“Think U the Shit (Fart)” became Ice’s highest charting unaccompanied solo Billboard Hot 100 hit to date, and she performed the song and “Phat Butt” at the 2024 BET Awards, where she was nominated for best collaboration and video of the year for “Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj and Aqua, as well as best female hip-hop artist.

“I think this is some of my best work,” she told Billboard when she was named the 2024 Women in Music Hitmaker Award honoree.

“I’s not going to be too long — it’s going to be sweet and to the point.”

Y2K! also features collaborations with Travis Scott (“Oh Shhh…”), Gunna (“Bitch I’m Packin’”) and Central Cee (“Did It First”), the lattermost of which debuted at No. 62 on the Hot 100 dated July 27.

Scott recently previewed their collaboration during his London tour stop.

Y2K! comes a year and a half after her debut EP Like..?, which reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and featured hit singles “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Princess Diana,” which later got a Hot 100 No. 4 remix with Minaj.

Ice Spice landed at No. 5 on Billboard‘s 10 Hottest Female Rappers Right Now list in June. And she embarked on her Y2K! World Tour earlier this month, which will make its way stateside next week in Washington, D.C., before wrapping on August 31 in Miami, Fla.

Ice Spice Releases Central Cee Collaboration “Did It First”

It’s first things first for Ice Spice.

The 24-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper has joined voices with Central Cee to release their first collaboration “Did It First,” which was released on Thursday, July 11.

The song will be featured on Ice Spice’s highly anticipated debut album Y2K!, which will be released on July 26 via 10K Projects and Capitol Records.

“Did It First” is the fourth single after her Billboard Hot 100 top 40 hit “Think U The Shit (Fart),” the Sean Paul-sampling “Gimme a Light” and her latest offering “Phat Butt.”

Y2K! comes a year and a half after her debut EP Like..?, which reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and featured her hit singles “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Princess Diana” (which later got a Hot 100 No. 4 remix with Nicki Minaj).

Meanwhile, Cench has hit the Hot 100 two more times this year, with J. Cole’s “H.Y.B.” (also featuring Bas) (No. 35) and his and Lil Baby‘s “BAND4BAND” (No. 18). He also recently collaborated with Afropop star Asake on “Wave.”

Ice Spice Signs with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for International Representation

Ice Spice has new global representation… 

The 23-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper has signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for international representation in all areas.

Ice SpiceA representative for the rapper confirms that veteran hip-hop agent Cara Lewis and C Lewis Group continue to represent her in North America and Canada.

The news of the WME signing was originally reported by Variety.

The Bronx rapper has continued to blow up since her 2022 breakout single, “Munch (Feelin’ U).” At the top of the year, she released her debut EP, Like..?, via 10K Projects and Capitol Records. The EP received a deluxe version in July and eventually peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200. The project spawned numerous hits, including “Princess Diana” — which received a remix with Nicki Minaj that reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Ice’s second top 10 hit following “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” with PinkPantheress — and “Deli,” which reached No. 41 on the Hot 100 and became her highest-charting solo hit on the chart.

Ice Spice has a total of four Hot 100 top 10 hits to her name, also including the “Karma” remix with Taylor Swift (which the two performed live for the first time at the East Rutherford, N.J. stop of Swift’s Eras Tour) and “Barbie World” with Minaj and Aqua.

The drill MC recently snagged four nominations ahead of the 2024 Grammy Awards: best new artist, best pop duo/group performance for “Karma,” and best rap song and best song written for visual media for “Barbie World.”

The rapper is currently touring with Doja Cat on the Scarlet Tour, which wraps next Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Chicago’s United Center.

Billboard crowned Ice as R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Year in August.

Ferreira Releases Video for The Japanese Christmas-Themed Song “Omanko”

Sky Ferreira is spreading season’s greetings…

The 22-year-old part-Brazilian singer-songwriter, who recently previewed new single “Guardian,” has released a new music video for her Japanese Christmas-themed song “Omanko” just in time for the holidays.

The lo-fi clip, directed by Ferreira’s boyfriend Zachary Cole Smith of rock band DIIV, features silly homemade videos of Ferreira spliced with footage of her onstage performances.

“The Omanko video was just ton of footage @DIIV & I made (originally without any intention of making anything out of it).U know…for fun?!” Ferreira wrote in a tweet on Saturday (Dec. 20).

“Omanko” is from Ferreira’s debut album, Night Time, My Time, which was released in late 2013 on Capitol Records. She is currently working on her second album with Primal Scream‘s Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes.

Ferreira shared the “Omanko” video through Twitter over the weekend and then later wrote that she originally set out to make “official videos for most of the songs on the record,” but didn’t get the budget she needed from her representatives.

“It’s a shame. Because labels/managers etc don’t think it’s necessary unless it’s a single,” Ferreira tweeted.
