Ice Spice Releases Highly Anticipated Debut Album “Y2K!”

Ice Spice has finally released her debut album…

The 24-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-nominated rapper dropped Y2K! on Friday, July 26 via 10K Projects and Capitol Records.

Ice SpiceIce Spice’s 10-song set features previously released singles “Phat Butt,” “Think U the Shit (Fart)” and “Gimmie a Light.”

“Think U the Shit (Fart)” became Ice’s highest charting unaccompanied solo Billboard Hot 100 hit to date, and she performed the song and “Phat Butt” at the 2024 BET Awards, where she was nominated for best collaboration and video of the year for “Barbie World” with Nicki Minaj and Aqua, as well as best female hip-hop artist.

“I think this is some of my best work,” she told Billboard when she was named the 2024 Women in Music Hitmaker Award honoree.

“I’s not going to be too long — it’s going to be sweet and to the point.”

Y2K! also features collaborations with Travis Scott (“Oh Shhh…”), Gunna (“Bitch I’m Packin’”) and Central Cee (“Did It First”), the lattermost of which debuted at No. 62 on the Hot 100 dated July 27.

Scott recently previewed their collaboration during his London tour stop.

Y2K! comes a year and a half after her debut EP Like..?, which reached No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and featured hit singles “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and “Princess Diana,” which later got a Hot 100 No. 4 remix with Minaj.

Ice Spice landed at No. 5 on Billboard‘s 10 Hottest Female Rappers Right Now list in June. And she embarked on her Y2K! World Tour earlier this month, which will make its way stateside next week in Washington, D.C., before wrapping on August 31 in Miami, Fla.

The 23-year-old Mexican and Cuban American singer has released a remix of her “My Oh My” single.

The new version featuring Gunna was released at midnight on Friday, May 1.

After 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, Cabello’s single remains a contender going into the summer, floating steadily at No. 12. 

A standout on the singer’s sophomore albumRomance, “My Oh My” featuring DaBabyis about a good girl’s infatuation with bad boys. Directed by Dave Meyers, Cabello released the glossy video last February.

Cardi B to Perform at the VEWTOPIA Music Festival During Super Bowl Week

The 27-year-old half-Dominican American rap superstar will perform at the VEWTOPIA Music Festival during Super Bowl week in Miami, VEW Live! has confirmed.

VEW Live! announced in December that the acts will make up the inaugural VEWTOPIA Music Festival, which takes place January 31-February 1 at Marlins Park.

Super Bowl 54 will take place on February 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Shakira and Jennifer Lopez will headline the halftime show.

Spotify’s RapCaviar Pantheon Installation to Honor Cardi B & Her “Undeniable Impact”

The 26-year-old half-Dominican American rap sensation will join Jaden Smith, Juice WRLD and Gunna as part of Spotify’s RapCaviar Pantheon.

The four hip-hop stars will be inducted into a special hall of fame in New York, where they’ll be feted for a limited time with life-size sculptures.

This year’s class is a “reflection of hip-hop today” and each artist is recognized as a cultural disruptor and for “making an undeniable impact” on the genre.  

The special artworks in the Spotify Installation will be housed at the Brooklyn Museum from April 3-7.

The RapCaviar Pantheon returns this year after the inaugural 2017 event, which saw the Brooklyn Museum display sculptures of some of the hip-hop’s stellar acts, including SZA21 Savage and Metro Boomin

The Pantheon was created by Spotify’s in-house team with creative director Ibra Akeconsulting on the project and directing the accompanying films.
