Manuel Turizo to Perform During 91st Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Rockefeller Center

Manuel Turizo is helping celebrate another holiday in the United States…

Following his debut appearance at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 23-year-old Colombian singer will helping light the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas tree in New York City.

Manuel TurizoThe popular Manhattan landmark will be hosting its 91st annual lighting ceremony on Wednesday, November 29 at 8:00 pm ET. The 2023 Christmas tree lighting ceremony is bound to get you in the holiday spirit with the help of a slew of guests and musical performances.

This year, Kelly Clarkson will be hosting the tree lighting ceremony and performing on the show that will feature appearances from Today’s Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin.

In addition to Turizo, you can also expect musical performances from Chloe Bailey, Adam Blackstone, Cher, David Foster, Liz Gillies, Darlene Love, Seth MacFarlane, Barry Manilow, Katharine McPhee, Keke Palmer, Carly Pearce, Radio City Rockettes and more.

The ceremony will air on NBC and Peacock.

The 30-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning superstar stars in Beats by Dre’s latest commercial for its new earphones: the Beats Studio Buds+.

The release comes just a few months after Chlöe Bailey made her debut in a Beats commercial of her own.

In the new ad, Cardi is answering and making calls in a luxurious room and later while browsing a corner store for a beverage. She shows off the sleek capabilities of the earphones in true Cardi fashion — her hair features a vibrant purple streak, and she’s in with a floral robe and matching purple set all while sporting the compact yet multipurpose wireless earbuds as her as her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Up” plays intermittently.

Tristan Mack Wilds to Star in Universal’s Music-Competition Feature Comedy “Praise This”

Tristan Mack Wilds is ready for a little praise (this).

The 32-year-old halfAfro-Dominican American actor has been cast in Universal Pictures’ film Praise This, starring Chloe Bailey.

Other new cast members include newcomers Kiara Iman Heffner and Ilario Grant, Birgundi Baker, Loren Lott, Crystal Renee Hayslett, Cocoa Brown, Vanessa Fraction and Kountry Wayne.

Praise This is a music-competition feature comedy set in the world of youth choirs, announced earlier this year as one of three Universal films coming to Peacock in 2023.

Tina Gordon is directing, having penned the latest draft of the script, which was based off an original idea by The Story Company.

Earlier drafts were written by Camilla Blackett and Brandon Broussard, Hudson Obayuwana and Jana Savage—the trio otherwise known as Murder Ink.

The film falls under Will Packer Productions’ first-look deal with Universal.

Production kicked off in Atlanta in June.

Wilds currently stars in the Apple TV+ series Swagger. Past credits include the Spike Lee miniseries Miracle’s Boys, the critically-acclaimed HBO series The Wire, the award-winning feature Half NelsonThe Secret Life of Bees and George Lucas’ Red Tails.

Freeformhas released the first teaser for the third season of its hit comedy series grown-ish, starring the 31-year-old Mexican and Honduran American actress. And, it looks like someone will be heading into their junior year with an unexpected surprise.

The spot reveals quite a bit in just 15 seconds. It opens with someone sitting on a toilet taking a pregnancy test. The person then throws the test on the floor revealing a + sign, and then exclaims “Oh! S***!’

Picking up after season 2’s finale cliffhanger, the gang returns as confident, eager and seasoned upper-classmen, with Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and her girls (… and Vivek) moving into an off-campus home, ready to take on the school year. They quickly realize that they have been mistaken about the disillusionment of adulthood, with real-life problems coming for them, including student loans, work/ life balance and, of course, messy breakups. Plus, the season premiere picks up with some of the crew having to deal with the repercussions of their big mistakes before summer break.

Grown-ishis a contemporary take on the issues that students face in the world of higher education, and follows Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and her friends as they return to CalU with confidence and swagger. Learning from the ups and downs of their freshman year, they all think they’ve got their second year on lock, but quickly realize that they’re not as grown as they think.

Grown-ish, a spinoff of Freeform corporate sibling ABC’s Black-ish, will kick off the second half of its Season 2 at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5. 

After the cliffhanger spring finale, Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and her friends find themselves at dramatic crossroads in their relationships, academics and adulthood. Topics explored in the new episodes will include cultural appropriation, mental health, academic scandal and more.

The renewal comes amid strong ratings for the spinoff of ABC’s Black-ish. Season to date, grown-ish ranks as the No. 1 comedy on cable among women 18-49 and females 12-34. The series also ranks among this season’s Top 3 cable comedies with women 18-34 (No. 2), adults 18-34 (No. 3) and persons 12-34 (No. 3).
